^^ Vettel is a two time WDC, back to back no less and many congratulations to him on the achievement but the implications being made in this write up are ridiculous. Not only is it delusional to say that the car isn't the big factor... I'd go as much as to say that it's not just the car that's been dominant but the team itself, dominant in the reliability dominant in pit stop performance and dominant in strategy.

Read the bit about Mark Webber again...

We've established that Mark is substantially worse than Vettel (maybe something about the tires, but I doubt it's simply that) so not dispute there, similar to how Massa is performing as compared to Alonso. However that's the only quantifiable conclusion that can be made, anything more than that is subjective.

Yet it isn't subjective to conclude Mark Webber has about as much talent as Karun Chandhok. If it's all about the car/team, underperforming like Webber does would make you wonder if he even deserves a super-license.

Which is why I don't believe it's all down to the car/team.

I agree, not all just down to the car but that's not how the write up is framing it. Which is my original comment, to me it seems very biased. The team tactic this year has been to qualify on pole because the combination of Vettel and the RB7 can do it consistently, and then be outside of the 1 second window by lap three and bye bye. It's been that way most of the year, every time it hasn't gone that way is when they've struggled and the wins haven't gone to Red Bull. Not taking anything from Vettel, but the statement that it's not a dominant car, and as I also added a flawless and dominant team is crazy. How many mechanical failures have they had this year? The team has made an astronomical leap in reliability as compared to last year is that Vettel's doing as well?

Actually I agree with most of that article - Red Bull doesn't have a BIG advantage in pace, i think it's actually smaller than last year, but both Vettel, the car and the team are working together perfectly to get all those wins.

Lack of respect for a driver? I got that context thanks.

Boys, sarcasm doesn't always come across clearly in thread, especially if not read through in it's entirety. :headpat:

Flavio speaks out:-

New world champion Sebastian Vettel is not the best driver in Formula 1, according to former Renault team boss Flavio Briatore. "Vettel is definitely good," said the Italian. "But he won because he best managed his phenomenal car. He is not the best. If there was a race where they were all in the same car, Vettel would be behind Fernando Alonso and also Lewis Hamilton. On a qualifying lap, I see Vettel in pole position, then Hamilton and Alonso third."

Yes, about Flabio. Most champions win 'cos they have the best car but I doubt he'd say the same if his boy Alonso won in the Red Bull.

I can't take this bloated orange dishonest cheating supermodel boinking lecherous creep seriously. This is the same guy that suggested that F1 races be split into 2 parts like GP2 races!
