Stefano Domenicali believes that Fernando Alonso would have no reservations about Sebastian Vettel joining Ferrari in the future.

Speculation is ongoing about who will partner Alonso in 2013 as Felipe Massa's contract runs out at the end of next season. Vettel has admitted that he would like to drive for Ferrari one day, and after he won in Monza in September he said "The only thing that could make it better is probably wearing a red suit".

After Vettel became a double world champion on Sunday, Domenicali said he felt Alonso would not object to Vettel being his team-mate.

"Would Alonso accept it? I think so, I think it could work," Domenicali told La Gazzetta dello Sport. "Fernando's strength is that he is not afraid of anyone, a force that comes from his maturity."

However, Domenicali said that 2012 would be the opportunity for Massa to stake his claim for a new deal, while he also believes Lewis Hamilton is coveting the seat.

"[Massa] will do everything to prove what he has to Ferrari, and the other drivers with contracts expiring will want to prove that they are ready to come. Among those, probably, is Hamilton."

As long as Massa can escape Ferrari. He needs to get somewhere that he can rebuild his confidence.

I think Rosberg is the main target for Ferrari in 2013 which is a shame. Given that I don't like Ferrari I was hoping that a driver that I am not a fan of would join them in 2013 so ideally that would not be Vettel or Rosberg.

I can't see Vettel leaving Red Bull whilst Newey is still designing decent cars.

Seb's quote about winning at Monza, "The only thing that could make it better is probably wearing a red suit," is blown a little out of proportion. I think he was just commenting on how the Italian crowd cheers for Ferrari, and boos everyone else.

I think Seb's most tempting move would be to go to Merc, if/when they make a competitive car. I'm sure, just like Michael, he would love to be the first ever German to win a title in a German car.

Although another one of my all time fave drivers, Bernd Rosemeyer (in an Auto Union, known as the Silver Arrow), like Tazio Nuvolari did win the series title back before the modern era, but still no German driving a German car has been crowned F1 WDC.

This would not be any easy move for me. I may have to go incognito. Certainly no publicity shots. Anyway,it aint gonna happen cos Fernando would cry......even though he's afraid of no one :hehe:
