I find it strange since they at least do some creative PR for Formula One while most other teams do diddlysquat.

Im sure Red Bull are doing the PR for their brand and not F1 as a whole...

That would be BAE systems. BAE (and British Aerospace previously) was a technology partner to the McLaren Formula One team from 1996 to December 2007. The partnership originally focused on McLaren's F1 car's aerodynamics, eventually moving on to carbon fibre techniques, wireless systems and fuel management. BAE's main interest in the partnership was to learn about the high speed build and operations processes of McLaren.

A McLaren F1 car wasn't fired into the sky to the thread title still holds. No other F1 team has had a car at this altitude.
