Very bad news for any F1 driver whose initials are not Sebastian Vettel.

The motoring press cornered Adrian Newey in Mugello, where he was driving in the Trofeo Maserati Gran Turismo race. The master of understatement remarked that the RB8 will amaze all. When pressed for more detail, he joked that if he told all now, it wouldn't be a surprise.

When Chis Horner was asked what the big surprise is, he answered, "So far all he [Newey] has told me is that it's blue."

That statement made me chuckle; you say whose initials are... and then go on to spell out the full name of Sebastian Vettel!

But yes, the mind games have already begun... Newey can't possibly know at this stage how his RB8 will compete against whatever the other teams produce!

I thought his initial were spelt ess vee. :hehe:

Looking forward to an RB8 that'll amaze all but the level of amazingness (not a word, I know but I don't care :D ) will depend on the "radical" 2012 Ferrari and whatever McLaren can cobble togther.

Can Red Bull possibly amaze us any more? Surely another competition-killer will be simply "maintaining the form-book"?

Or will the new RBR regularly finish 3 laps ahead of the rest?

I can imagine it now. The Red Bulls will be so supreme that the rest of the field fail to qualify for being outside the 107% rule.

Or those that do make it finish over 10 laps down and aren't classified in the final standings.:cloud9:

Although, I'm mildly skeptical - we do know that Adrian Newey has outsmarted himself in the past.

I think he said this about the McLaren MP4-18 as well...the legendary car which never even hit the track.

Hot air at this stage.

Look at the location, Ferrari's own track. Think he is trying to scare the tifosi after Domencali went Wow over next years Ferrari.

No doubting though the RB8 will be quick. The rules aren't changing much.
