He was already making a lot of bad starts last year, how is it about the tyres?

he had a few, so did other drivers. Nothing compared to this season.

The point is bud is that Webber can say what he wants... it may even be the truth that they're hard to start with but yet he's still the most infamous of the leaders when it comes to starts and we're not hearing anyone else corroborate his claim. So whether is it or it isn't, it reeks of an excuse and he'd be a lot further up the points and maybe even have reeled his teammate in a bit were it not for his poor starts.

Its obviously affecting Webber the most, its cool, I'm over this thread. You guys can live in lala land and think its all to do with the electronics and tyres play no part in getting good take off's. I mean I don't recall people calling excuses for Massa and Schumacher when they found the Bridgestone slicks not to their liking, Webber has had problems with Pirellis that there is no doubting.

One thing i have learned about Webber over the years is he tells it how it is. Nothing more nothing less from him. But fans will be fans and take digs when someones down. Good on you armchair drivers out there! you are legends at your game. :wavey:

I can kind of see his point but i would have thought he'd found a solution by now. Although if you actually read his quotation properly it seems to me like he's not even making excuses, just telling it how it has been for him this year. I would say all he can do is get on the simulator and practice, practice, practice...

I don't get how a driver can be so bad at starts and keep doing it over and over and over again?

I remember McLaren had issues with starts in one year, when Launch control was first intro'ed and they kept losing out. After 3 or 4 races into the season, they practiced starts, 100 starts in 1 test day to sort the thing out and they got it working as required.

My question is why wouldn't Redbull try and do something about this? Yeah test days are no more, but I'm sure some special attention needs to be given to Mark's start issue....its really been a pain for him this season.

Conspiracy theory kicking in....Redbull screw up his start on purpose. Or give him wrong advice to give him a slightly weaker start than normal so Vettel has an easy run to the flag and WDC. :D

From a fan's point of view, I want it to be difficult to make good starts. Because that gives more opportunity for the driver to make the difference and more chance of seeing an exciting start with drivers battling for position, rather than a boring formation start.

Webber may have suffered more than other drivers this year. Drivers have different styles, and technical changes to the cars will normally affect some drivers more than other drivers. But, what can you do about this? Never change technical specifications or parts (such as tyres) suppliers? Change is part of F1, and there's nothing that can be done about it.
