Lewis Hamilton drives for McLaren. They WILL win another title before long. He needn't get depressed. And we should all stop getting flustered about him. Everything moves along in ups and downs.

I'd like to have your magic eight ball or some of what you were smokin'

Lauda's been mentioned. Take cover.

Here's the English version:

I don’t understand how a guy with Hamilton’s talent can be always so stupid.

Take a look in the mirror lauda.

In fairness Lewis has cleaned up his act off track and if the stewards are punishing him for previous attitude/indiscretions then that could be classed as profiling and should not be allowed; every incident should be investigated on individual case merit; was the Lewis/Felipe incident really any worse than Rosberg/Perez incident in the same race?

This is my point. Same incidents. Different penalties. Always lewis getting the worst. And the suggestion that stewards decide on penalties because of their personal perception/like/dislike of a particular driver smacks of something much worse than incompetence.

Explain. Are you denying that Hamilton has had some mind-farts this year?

[racechick]

He's made some minor errors like lots of other drivers. what Im saying is Nikki Lauda should look to himself in regard to his comments.

Based on what? He'll have been asked a question and gave a direct answer. What more do you want from the guy? Tell the person asking the question to shove off?

Well, I would say his mistakes this year have been less minor than most other drivers, certainly considering the frequency of them.

Despite a different view on the first part of your post, I agree on this, in the sense Lauda's driving style was not much different, however, when Lauda did it, it was what everyone did in those days.

Like someone else mentioned in a different topic, Hamilton's has and kept and 'old skool' driving style, much like Schumacher, which has caused somewhat similar results a couple of times. As a fan of Hamilton, I think it's a shame that it keeps him from achieving results, but it certainly makes for entertaining races.

[racechick]

I think plenty of other drivers have made similar or more errors. Schumacher who you mention comes immediately to mind. The thing is, every single thing lewis does is put under the microsscope or penalised. Other drivers doing the same thing go unnoticed, uncommented upon and unpunished. penalty of being the best I guess.

[What's Burning?]

Why was Rosberg allowed to completely cut the turn at the start of the race? We don't get the same level of commentary and certainly no post race BBC stuff, so some things are left in the ether.

I guess that none of the mods on here are ever allowed to talk about inconsistent stewarding anymore after letting so many people bash Felipe by calling him baby. Yes he was a douche this weekend, but I thought the name calling rule was a firm one. Now that I have that off my chest...

Hamilton this race. the lows and the highs. He made a mistake. Big deal. His tires were smoking when he was braking to cut back under Felipe because he overcooked it a little bit, or Massa braked a tad early to shut the door coming out of the corner. And have you seen the size of front wings lately? After the run in, while he was attempting to save his race he was the racer of the day. He was on fire when he was coming back through the field. Not once, but twice. There was right after the drive through (where he passed a tonne of cars) and then again after his last tire change where he had to work back from 9th I think it was.

Martin Whitmarsh said it, the BBC commentators said it and I will say it. We like aggressive Lewis, not Sunday drive Lewis. He is a racer. Does that mean that someone can't get pissed when he chops their wheel? No... But as highly paid athletes, they need to act like it. Felipe Massa in the press area after the race was completely out of line. Lewis was shaking his head, I almost read it as him telling Massa not to touch him.

Button turning up the heat at the end was great, but I think Vettel was in coast mode by then. I liked the action after the safety car, but felt really bad for all the back markers, they must look like smurfs after having so many blue lights flashed at them.

Sad to see Schumi's race ended by a mistake. He was on for a great finish. Just like Webber in Valencia, he miscalculated the braking point of one of the slower cars and it cost him.

Amazing race by DiResta. He is on my radar as the next rising star.

WB - Rosberg gave the spot back to Massa. The BBC guys said that Mercedes radioed up to race control and were told everything was okay.

Vettel needs to take a vacation for the rest of the races and Button needs to win them all, Otherwise he is WDC. Should have just given him the sexy party already.

It's gray area Bubbie... I've specifically had folks edit their posts this weekend when they called Massa a twit, but calling someone a baby isn't the same as calling someones a prick or a douchebag or an @sshole, so it's not necessarily about inconstancy, as much as it is about where to draw the line. I believe as a whole, we do police the offensive name calling well.

[f1boy]

I think too many of the slow merchants are far too quick to turn in on someone when they are being passed. Massa must know that he's useless, yet still thinks he can hold up someone like Lewis and then force him into a mistake, rather than putting his bitterness to one side and letting him pass clean.

TBH, I'm not interested in seeing half the field race at all. I wish they would all beat it, so that we can get proper racing with the top 10 drivers. All the rest are just lames who make up numbers and get in the way imo.

Bernie should bin at least 10 of the 24 drivers and give us, say, 14 in total. 14 world class drivers would be worth watching, rather than efforts like Massa and a lot of others who lumber about and crash doing their 20mph.

they didn't say why, but i'm guessing he would have been in dire penalty range if he stayed on the track for causing an avoidable accident.

Alonso has been in the sport 10 years and is regarded the best driver on the grid, he has ONE more title then Lewis.

Every year Hamilton doesnt win a title bar 2007, everyone goes oh god is he really that good, is he overtated, blah blah blah

Lewbridgewell said it best, he drives for Mclaren, they will keep him as long as he wants to stay, on a ratio of time in F1- WDC or Race wins, Mclaren have won 1 in 4, now who seriously thinks Hamilton wont win another title?

Thats what it all comes down to, Jensons done really well this year, but finishing second all the time when Vettels won is just being first of the losers, which is why Hamilton wins or comes like 4th, hes a risk taker, andw hen the risks dont pay of he has the speed ability and racecraft to rescue results anyway.

Ive decided to just accept that every race is going to have Hamilton as the talking point, unless he wins of course, then nobody wants to mention him.

And excuse my french but i cannot f***ing wait, until that car is able to deliver him a proper 50.50 title fight, because he will own anyone, and the best part, no matter who you support, everyone knows it.

I would say it's the penalty of being a British driver who was thrust into the spotlight with a lot of hype. Tbh, I'm sick of seeing Hamilton in the news every day - where are the squillions of articles about the new lie gate involving Senna at the Singapore GP.

The British media have such an influence over the sport and our perception of the other drivers.
