As confirmed today, FA was never approached by Ferrari. All you scaremongers, how do you like them apples? :P

And in line with his image of throwing the toys out of his pram: Who was most influential for him to leave McLaren? His granny :!::shock::roll:

she told him to shave his beard also!

remember he let it grow to piss off team management as they like their drivers to have a clean cut look.

Alonso is. like, a 2 times champion. I don't see too many bad jokes about that.

At least his granny was not the most photographed/filmed person in McLaren's pit. Unlike some other relatives...

in spain Alonso can do wrong. I've seen the media over there they spend as much time talking about him as the british do talking about hamilton

LOL .. I think Alonso is just downplaying the whole Mclaren situation. This is probably just him joking and trying to laugh about it now...

As far as him being Motorsports in Spain.. well what to expect?? 2-time champion. Beating the most succesful driver ever, twice. And the second time in an arguably 'lesser' car and team... This is more than Lewis has done and England is 'maaaaaad about Lewis'

F1 wasn't even big in Spain before Alonso came, Great Britain has always played a large part in F1 and has had plenty of Champions over the years even though the last Champion was Damon Hill back in 1996, but Coulthard and Button have always been on hand to take up the challenge between then and before Lewis' debut. The British public going mad for Lewis isn't the first time they've gone mad over a British driver, Mansell-mania took off when Nigel Mansell started to win races.

It doesn't surprise me. Why would Ferrari draft in Alonso? He would start trouble just as he did at McLaren.

He is still thinking about it for the future though.

Double world champion Fernando Alonso has refused to rule out ever joining Ferrari.

The Spaniard has left McLaren to re-join Renault in 2008, but speculation persists that his new contract will allow him to switch to Ferrari should a seat opens up at the Italian team a year later.

Alonso told Spanish radio this week that every team 'except Ferrari' approached him about working together in 2008.

He also told Cadena Ser: "Contracts in Formula One are always flexible. However, I have not signed for Renault so that I can leave after only one year."

Alonso expressed frustration with rumours that he was desperate to arrange his new Renault contract in order to give himself the opportunity to flee to Ferrari in 2009.

"Fifteen days after I sign with Renault, it is unfair to say that I want to go to Ferrari.

"McLaren and Williams are also great racing teams, but Ferrari is the biggest one that you can go to. If one day I go there, I would have to enjoy it, of course," he explained.

Alonso also played down reports that Brazilian rookie Nelson Piquet Jr could in 2008 give him just as much trouble as a team-mate as Lewis Hamilton did this year.

"All I have to do is go faster than him and, anyway, I believe that Flavio knows how to handle the situation.

"I don't think there are going to be any problems," Alonso said.

What's that about being the biggest team a driver can go to

Yep even Alonso know's that and he must feel like a big arse now that he most likely has ruined any chance he may had going to Ferrari, but then again this is F1 where the most unlikely of cenarios happen on a daily basis.
