I've long given up on watching F1 in Portugal. It's just too expensive to pay for a private channel in which my only real interest is F1 - this channel, SportTV, is more expensive than all my others channels combined on top of that, most of the time, the commentators don't know what they're talking about (the exception being the odd race where they bring Tiago to comment). Not worth my money.

I've decided to start watching the races online, using streaming technology, but it's bad quality and you may end up with a Chinese channel where you don't understand anything... also a bad solution.

So I ended up downloading the races through illegitimate means (can I say this? don't do it at home ). The advantages: I get the races on BBC, with good quality, good commenting and everything else, practice sessions included if I feel like it. The disadvantage is I have to wait a couple hours until it's online - but that's also good for not having to up middle of the night to watch Australia and Malaysia next year we'll see, depending on what's available, the BBC feed or the Sky feed.

You'll get no judgement from this part of the world. (usa) I have to torrent my stuff too. I wonder if fans of the NFL, NBA, or MLB have to do the same if they are in another country.

There was a time i got cut the 2007 Kimi champion podium ceremony for some stupid football...... i almost cancelled my cable subscription, but then realised i had nowhere else to watch hehe

How much is sky? Would they let you JUST get formula 1 coverage, and would it be allowed if you are outside of the UK? (usa here) I can't seem to find anything on their site that specifically answers these questions.
