NO - it does not say Ralf Schumacher. :irked:

Would you believe that I tried searching for a Schumacher using our search tool, but it came back with an error something like: "Schumacher" is too common, please enter more than three characters into search parameters and try again. Mods can you please fix this? :wavey:

Anyway, as I couldn't find a thread to discuss this topic I thought I'd create one. With Schumi's 5th place finish in Monza, he is now only 4 points away from Rosberg. And yet somebody raved this weekend that he is wasting his time. Well I'm telling you all Schumacher is back, and I have felt it since Canada, but unfortunately he's made a couple of clumsy mistakes since then.

But with a 4th place already under his belt, and now his second, consecutive 5th placing in a row in a charging Schumacher-of-old fashion, he is back. He also has a 6th place finish in Spain this year. This is compared to Rosberg's 2x5ths and 2x6ths.

In the 6 races left, including those in unpredictable (or predictably wet) climates of Asia, I reckon he is building up to a podium finish, and an end-of-season finish above Rosberg. Just in time to prepare himself for race wins next year. :wavey:

You can see his confidence that he has - he seems to just shrug off any criticism. I think I'm going to be the first here in a while to do this, but I, Big Azza hereby recognize myself as a Schumacher-lamb until the end of the season, with Sebastian Vettel already having his title in the bag, it'll give me something else to keep me entertained.

He won't win another title. Race wins may be possible if they improve the car. He has definitely stepped up his game, performed better tham Nico as of late. But I think that has been a combination of Michael performing better and Nico having stubled a bit the past few races. Last year Michael was consistantly about 7 tenths off Nico's pace, this year it has been about 3 tenths. I think being at some of the old circuits he has driven so many times has helped.

I think some of Micahel's problems have been his pace is just not what it used to be, which really is to be expected. As a result he has, in certain instances, just been trying too hard, and making stupid rookie type mistakes. I has afraid we were going to see another this weekend in his battle with Lewis. But, he fought him hard, intelligently, and I beleive fair (whole other thread on that topic). By the way, anybody think he just let Lewis go? Seemed like when the pass was made, it just seemed way too easy, like Michael just pulled over and let him through. Think he got a secret message on his Ross Brawn decoder ring "Let him through, or receive penalty"?

Anyway, its good to see him competitive. I think if he continues to perform at this level and can take the fight to Nico, maybe pick up a win, that he won't have tarnished his legacy.

He can't tarnish his legacy. What he did, stands. Those who liked him then still like him and those who disliked him still do, for the most part. But he's not "back", although maybe closer to Rosberg this season. The Real Schumacher conjured wins and podiums sometimes despite the car. I predict that Schumacher will not get a podium this season unless there are only two out of the six Red Bulls, McLarens and Ferraris left running. And probably Rosberg would need to be out too.

Two questions;

1.Slightly worrying that the real schumi being back is stil behind rosberg in the standings, and getting outqualified a lot too, thats not a dig, thats stating a glaring concern, is rosberg that good? Is schumacher overrated?

2. If this is now the real schumacher, that what happened to the imposter that raced as him for 2010?

The real Schumi can't be back. The real Schumi drove red. This guy must be a clone of the real one. :hehe:

That's when Ferrari were worth driving for.

1. He's had 2 fantastic races which have showed the Schumacher of old but 2 swallows do not make a spring. I wouldn't jump to any conclusions and build the guy up and end up looking stupid come Singapore. Schumacher is far from over-rated but I think Rosberg is very under-rated.

2. The 1st year back after a break of 3 years was always going to be a poor year no matter how much hype Merc and the press put into Schumachers return. No in-season testing played against him as well seeing as there were no opportunities beyond a couple of preseason test sessions to get used to the car outside of a race situation. The car being a dud hasn't helped things either.

I hope the real Schumacher is really back! I'm sure he won't win another championship but I think (probably next year, if the car is a little bit better) he could win some races... I hope it :)

That all depends on Merc producing a decent car.

Ferrari are always worth driving. What would you rather have, a Shwin 10 speed perhaps?

Yes I would.

You are not normal. Period.

So... will he get more pts on Rosberg by the end of the season??
Schu is looking strong, but Nico has had terrible luck. Seems too close to call right now.

Rosberg is been the better driver, Schu has been pretty incostintent. I thought he was actually going to better Nico, but he (Schu) hasnt been able to drive consistently.

Schumacher's on the best form he's been in since his comeback. I'm glad he's re-discovering some of his old speed. I'm not a Schumi fan, but if he were to win one more race before he retired for good, I'd be overjoyed for him. :)
