Yeah! dont want Singapore to be the last race of the season ;)
Unless they figure something awesome.... like Vettel starting from the pits and to use only 2 set of tires in all remaining races.

I want it to be over sooner (not even speaking as a Vettel fan, as i'm not particularly)! There's usually some epic races to be had once titles are sorted, as everyone is just all out for race wins! :D

Usually. But c'mon, do you really feel that ANYBODY has been holding back because of the championship or somtin' this year??? It's not like last year when a DNF meant you may have lost the championship or when ending on the podium consistently was good enough to be in the lead or second.

I kind of get what you are saying, but an element of pressure will be completely gone... i mean, you could have said what you just said there about any year the championship has finished early, right? Yet my point seems to have applied a lot in the past. If that makes sense. People will be more likely to try a crazy strategy or a banzai move just to get a race win, it's a lot less cagey. Plus, the leader (ie Vettel here) usually winds back a little.

It's not happened a lot actually but look at the final races from seasons like '04, '05, '93, '92 etc... looks of great races.

1st place in the championship could be over after the Singapore GP but there is still 2nd to play for. There is still plenty of racing to be had and I can hardly see vettel/Red Bull throwing in the towel if they with the championship early.

And I'm saying that that element of pressure you call has been gone in most if not all drivers for quite a few races now already. It was clear from Silverstone on that SV was the only option for the championship.

2nd place race could be a Hitchcock thriller :thumbup:

It's all about perspective... let's have a second place champion and the ghost of Hitchcock himself will make a cameo.

Do any of the drivers really give a crap about finishing 2nd in the title race? I don't think so, not one bit... so i disagree with these points. Obviously it's been clear for ages (since way before Silverstone for me) that Vettel and Red Bull are going to take both titles, but once the job is done there is a change in mentality, it's shown to be the same for F1 and any sport really. I still believe that once the titles are definitely done then it'll be more open.

I get what you're saying but I'm not sure I buy it. (personally at least) It's all a matter of perspective though, and there will be a perceived change in the air once the championship is sealed, so I agree that we'll see those that can reach out and pluck a race victory, really stretch.

The race for P2 will be nice... but let's admit it: Aonso is P2 right now, and unless it was pointed out i guess no one would have even noticed; but would you imagine the stoke if he was leading P1 by just a single pt? with everyone else on around the same pts? ohhh boy like last yr. Last yr was awesome. Although the RACES in themselves this yr have been the absolute best.

2nd place, first of the losers.

Perhaps the Red Bull mentality could change and they could focus on getting Mark to P2.

Of course all efforts to try and back Mark usually fail in qualifying. If, however, he does stick it on pole, and somehow avoids having a bad start, Mark's first pit-stop (timed to coincide with a pig flying over the pit lane) will be designed to make him finish in front of Vettel, which would be nice. :)

Didn't Mercredes finish strongly last year? :wavey:

Perhaps I - Big Azza - who (in)correctly predicted that Nick Heidfeld would have his first race win at Monaco this year, will predict a podium for the mighty Schumacher or first race win for one Nico Rosberg... :P

I really don't care much for who is placed in what position any more. Vettel has easily won the title.

To me, this season has been about what happens on the day - rather than what happens in the standings. There's been plenty of brilliant racing happening all over the field and that's all that matters to me at the moment.

Here's hoping for another action-packed race.

Kind of sucks even more for anyone who finishes 3rd and lower. They can't even be 1st of the losers! :hehe:

My prediction is that the championship will not be over after Singapore. Not the most exciting prediction ever, but there you go.

I'm encouraged by SV being prepared to take risks at Monza, as he's confident with his points lead. There could be some exciting racing at Singapore if SV doesn't lead from the start.
