Nice blog, think youve overreacted in the last section, anyone would have sat behind Schumacher like Hamilton did after repeated chops and that, Hamilton still tried though, he just couldnt get past simple as.

Dont know what else seemed so subdued, if nobody else had noticed he was actually locked in wheels with vettel at the race start, ithought itd end in tragedy for all three.

I get the impression youve wrote down what you subsconsciously hope will be the case MOA, that Hamilton loses the spark and Jenson can finish ahead of him more consisntely, i just think a fourth place almost third given the circumstances, and who it was that was blocking Hamilton led him to be cautious.

His only mistake was being caught napping at the safety car phase.

Fair enough; the blog is my opinion and it will be biased towards the drivers I support, I make no bones about that! My point is that a few races ago; Lewis would have been making lunges down the inside, outside and on the grass, Lewis was much more cautious, yes Schumacher made some very dodgy moves but I wouldn't say it was completely unfair; I believe F1 needs more action like that; get rid of the 'make only one defensive move' rule; stop penalising drivers for racing incidents, the Schumacher/Lewis battle was very exciting to watch, I want more of that!

When a McLaren source tells the BBC that Lewis needed to be encouraged to chase down Alonso; something is not right!

:)

Yeah but remember Hamiltons recent results, the criticism would be unbearable if he hadnt finished today wouldnt it?

He was on for a podium it was bloody unforuntae to say the least how the circumstances went for Lewis today, and even then he almost got Alonso.

I think just because he was encouraged to attack Alonso doesnt mean he was discouraged, it just means the team were also happy to see him go for it and let it be known to him.

Schumacher broke the rules plain and simple no matter how you would like it to be. I can say that if it was Jensen that Schumacher was doing the illegal moves on ,you would be up in arms.

Had Button had already renewed his contract I doubt such a fuss would be made about who the team leader (regardless of whether or not they have one) driver is at McLaren. It's natural that given is small points lead and ongoing contract negotiations that the press start jumping to conclusions. The fuss will settle down once Button resigns with McLaren in the near future. I wouldn't read too much into it or get too steamed.

Did you see the pre-race coverage? Jenson made a joke, when asked who is the team leader at McLaren, he said "I am", and if you asked Lewis he'd say "he is"". Then they made it a reoccurring joke I guess, picking up on Jenson doing well over Lewis a bit more because to be fair it is kinda unexpected.

Like how Massa got marked out that time he out qualified Alonso this year, think even people on here mentioned it. Cultural thing I guess, picking up and commenting on the unexpected whilst letting the usual slide past your notice. Say, work out statistically, what most people die off, then look at a newspaper, how many stories about death are about a common death?

I don't think Lewis gets missed out on praise, I've noticed him being praised plenty of times on the BBC coverage.

^This!

Being constantly put down by the press is enough to break anyone's spirit but he will bounce back.

What makes me laugh is the season is not over yet and Jensen is only 9 points ahead, anything could happen. I would say to the bbc and Jensen fans to not get to carried away yet because it could turn out to be an egg on your face situation.

I'm not building Jenson up but the way recent results have gone for Jenson after having a double retirement through not fault of his own, it looks like Jenson is on the ascendency; Lewis could well bounce back and beat Jenson come the end of the season but Lewis isn't the all conquering driver that can blow Jenson away, I'm not predicting who will win the title, anything could happen!

Who said he was the all conquering driver, seriously where did you hear that one from.

It wasn't Lewis that's for sure, perhaps it's just your dislike that has you imagining things that have not been said.

The title is already won,no one is catting Vettel, didn't you know that?

:hehe:

And yes, it's JENSON! Not Jensen! He is not from Denmark! :hehe:

OMG guess what? I was in Madame Tussauds in London once, and they've got a wax model of Lewis Hamilton, and a replica of one of Jenson Button's steering wheels or something, and on the sign above it they spelt his name as "JENSEN". Deary deary me....

I never said Lewis' said that; but I have heard it many times on this forum and others that Lewis will blow Jenson away. I DO NOT DISLIKE LEWIS; I respect his abilities; my issue was always with his attitude in front of the media; he has cleaned his act up as far as press interviews go; right now I have no issue with him, I simply think after a few crashes, he has toned down his driving style!

Just watched the race.Once again Schumacher goes beyond the boundries and gets away with it.hes a danger in my opinion. If it had been Lewis doing it people would be calling for him to be banned.
Great balls showed again from Vettel at the start, after Alonso shoved him on the grass.never to be seen again.Surely there can be less and less people doubting him now.
Lewis caught sleeping by Schumi on the restart cost him a podium.
