I think the OP is the only one suggesting team orders, the rest of us are just curious as to why Jenson abandoned his lap.

He must have made a mistake after Sector 2, Sector 3 is where McLaren were struggling so he'd have known even a small mistake would have been enough to lose a lot of time. Be good to see an onboard of that lap.

Does anyone think for one minute any team would stop one of their drivers going for pole ?.I can't believe anyone on here would be stupid enough to think that.(i'm sure you don't) :hehe:
Team orders near the end of a race possibly, depending on the title circumstances, but it's the constructers points teams want most, hardly going to risk losing them are they.

What's done is done; I am a JB fan, I don't hide that fact but I don't mind that Lewis is in front of Jenson on the grid; I just wondered what happened as Button was a tenth up at the end of sector 2, I just find it curious that he would pull in unless he had a massive off road excursion, he wouldn't be saving engine or tyres as he would have lifted as soon as crossing the line, maybe with a better time, maybe a slower time than Lewis; we will never know, maybe it was a strategic call by Jenson as he knew that no-one could beat him to third, we'll never know that either!

So, let's enjoy the race instead of talking about what can not be changed!

Im pretty sure the only sector time we got for Jenson was sector one, and from there until he pulled into the pits we didnt hear anything more of him.

im as certain that im right as i am certain that im wrong though :D

Its as simple as he made a mistake somewhere, whether its unbelievable because we didnt see it on what, whitmarsh has confirmed it, button has confirmed it. He made a mistake, Lewis made a mistake, they pulled both in.

OP has got everyone in a frenzy with a view only he concurs with.

Right, well ive just watched the event again and i was completely wrong,

Why on earth, and When on earth? Did Button make this "mistake" as Whitmarsh says and decide to call him in, he was fastest in the first two sectors and made no mistakes in the final one?????

Something isnt right thats for sure........Button was going to outqualify Hamilton and potentially Vettel, why did they call him in?

I thought Mclaren were faster than Red Bull in the first 2 sectors throughout the entire qualifying session weren't they?

Just because Button was faster than Vettel in the 1st 2 sectors doesn't mean he was faster than Hamilton, and without exact sectors timings of each driver its impossible to conclusively say Button was on for P2.

I might be wrong but im pretty sure Red Bull were several tenth's faster than Mclaren in that final sector and the only reason they were close to Red Bull was because they were faster in the 1st 2 sectors.
