Im pretty sure he knew how fast vettel was going so settled for third, abd a nice side of the grid.

Listen guys i googled and signed up on this forum specifically because not only had I seen Jensen pit from 2 sectors 0.15 secs quicker, but the BBC team didn't seem to notice. Odd that. And now I just get flamed by the old hacks. C'est la vie

All teams use team orders to some degree and have done so since 19oatcake when F1 started.

However, I sincerely doubt that team orders were employed here. Button made a mistake at one of the Lesmos I believe so there would have been no point in using extra fuel, putting more wear on the tyres and engine etc etc in completing a lap that was knackered anyway.

In the words of Inspector Clouseau (the Peter Sellers version, not the Steve martin version which was just an insult to the memory of Peter Sellers), case clos-ed.

Incidently, Lonesometwin, you're no relation to an Eviltwin are you?

Yes, you are right, Jenson WAS improving on his lap. You're also right about the BBC team not noticing, but I think they just knew they weren't going to beat Vettel's new lap.

I really don't think he was brought in for the reason of keeping Lewis on the front row.

The camera followed him alll the way round while Hammie locked up in the background. Looked pretty well faultless. Am annoyed because I too can see no reason for orders in that team.

And you're not? Is this place just for troll wars then?

Is Monza your the first qualifying session you watched? There is more than enough proof that Martin Whitmarsh likes Button as much, if not MORE than Hamilton...so no one will ever believe McLaren siding with Lewis for any reason at all.

Plus, this isn't even the significant bit, Button made a mistake, plain and simple and went into the pits. Which is why you creating a new thread with a 0 density argument is considered - boring.

Goodbye. :hehe:

Where was this alleged mistake? Simple question, show me.

Hey man I can understand your frustration. There's nothing worse than seeing a driver your rooting for pull into the pits after abandoning a lap.

But I have full confidence that McLaren wouldn't employ such blatant team orders with their two highly skilled and motivated world champions.

Let's instead look at the positive side of Jenson's qualifying. He starts on the clean side

I wasn't driving the car, if you asked Jenson maybe he'll replicate the mistake on his XBox for you.

Mr. Bridewell, are you an employee? I refuse to draw succour from the thought that a driver starts from 3rd when he should have been 2nd. Shame there's no chance of rain!

yeah, they've let them have at it in much more crucial situations.

I really don't see McLaren caring who starts 2nd or 3rd. Assuming for a minute that they ARE employing team orders, and Jenson ended up holding up Hamilton in the race tomorrow, they could just order Jenson to let Hamilton pass.
