After being taken out at La Source in the previous outing, Jaime Alguersuari is still having some hair-raising moments... nearly being taken out at top speed by a Force India and then then a near miss after blocking the way for Lewis Hamilton at Parabolica. All in P2!

Despite some hairy moments for Schumacher, Alonso and Senna, only Buemi has put the car in the barriers so far...

Nice to see Ferrari struggling at their home race. Hope it continues through the weekend.

Don't speak too soon.............

I'm not. I just said its nice to see them struggling...they aren't leading the times. Plus,

Ferrari lacking performance - Alonso

Fernando Alonso does not think Ferrari will be on the pace of its rivals Red Bull and McLaren at its home race in Italy.

Alonso finished the second Friday practice session at Monza in fifth place and a respectable 0.423s off Sebastian Vettel's fastest time. However, he is not confident about closing the gap over the next two days and admitted that Ferrari has not brought any major performance updates for the Italian Grand Prix.

"Honestly, I think we lack a bit of performance compared to the best, even if there are still the same unknowns relating to Fridays, especially those linked to fuel loads," he said. "However, we have to be realistic: the car is more or less the one we had in Spa, apart from specific updates to cope with the fact this track requires low aerodynamic downforce. Sure, it would be nice to repeat last year's performance, but we know that will be very difficult. You can't create a miracle in two weeks, but we will do our utmost to give the fans something to cheer about."

Do you think team bashing is a positive contribution to this forum? Personally I'm getting sick and tired of it. Fortunately it seems to have decreased though.

It's all banter at heart. Relishing the rivalry! 8-)

Hamilton was held up on the first two of his three runs though.

Yes, indeed. I'm hoping they can pull something out and finally stop the RBR domination of pole position  I thought Monza, of all venues, would've been the place! We'll see........

The Merc powered cars should really be doing the business this weekend. Lewis will be wanting pole and Mercedes Benz will be hoping Michael and Nico can do something in the race too.
Anyway first things first, looking forward to qualifying.

Ok, so, what do you think, who will be on pole? I think its 50-50 chance between Hamilton and Vettel, but I will give a slight advantage to the Mercedes engine.
