How will you watch F1 next year?

Sign up to SKY, I need the whole season, even though I hate paying for F1.

I'll stick with the BBCs 10 races, plus the highlights.

I already have sky sports, so it's just a new channel for me.

39% are undecided or boycoting

Only one person has actually said they are boycotting, which is a knee-jerk reaction to the decision.

Those who've said they're undecided will still watch and they know it. :hehe:

Hmmmm, you seem to know an awful lot about about this one vote....... :detective:

This is one of the most Britain-centric polls I've ever seen on here  There are many people who don't get BBC or Sky and watch F1 on other channels. Yet, there's no option offered for us such as 'Other'.

That's because it is the UK viewers that are being put over a barrel by the BBC. Making it British-centric is correct as it is our coverage that is changing and will exclude thoushands of viewers who can't afford or don't want Sky.

Read the OP while pretending you're not British and you'll see what I mean. Plus, I consider myself a quite hardcore fan and feel it's rather offensive to be seemingly excluded from the poll by being put outside the group of 'us hardcore fans'.

I had a look at the getting sky sports and it was going to cost me an extra 240 quid a year, then I spoke to my local social club who said they will open for all the races (so that means as long as I don't spend 240 quid on beer watching the races I have saved some money.)

if there is 20 races next year that means I will have to drink less than one and a half pints a weekend :-(

Your math might be better than that though if you decide to only go to the club for the half of races that are shown on Sky, but stay home for the BBC races

I'm not sure what I'll be doing. I'm moving to Korea. Anyone know how to get F1 there?

North or south?

Ha! Uh....south. Not sure Mr Kim Jong Il allows F1 in his beloved haven.

Ah - then you should be in good shape  They ought to be into F1 with their own race now...
Though, you might have to brush up a bit on your Korean vocabulary. :hehe:

Suddenly, I feel lucky for having ESPN star sports......Their commentating can suck at times but at least we get to watch all the races...

I thought I was the only on on these forums...so what do you think of Steve Slater's genius commentating. :hehe:

Probably will just end up watching the BBC coverage. Not going to pay for Sky, don't want to use online links, and not sure I'll find somewhere to watch the Sky races.

It is a British centric poll, but because our coverage is changing.

I am lucky enough to have access to BBC and Sky Sports streaming services state-side so it won't effect me; I'm just hope the Martin Brundle and David Coulthard will commentate on Sky!

Ill be watching it for free, even better yet Ill be watching the British coverage for free. Suck on them apples! :P

do you not have tv licenses in oz for one?

secondly, wont you only get ten races?

Australia's F1 broadcaster is network ten. They have the license to broadcast every race, they use the international feed but use the British commentary. So we get the BBC guys. I assume for the Sky races they will either use that commentary or use their own hosts which I hope they don't, the guys that host the F1 and motogp are alright at hosting but crap at commentating.

I also thinking what will happen with commentary when Sky does the races. Hopefully they just use the Sky commentary (don't care who does it, can't be that bad right) and not our Aussie guys calling those races, They do a good job hosting but that should be it. Those years back when Greg Rust and Beattie doing the commentary for MotoGP weere not that good at all, I'm glad they use the BBC guys now in recent years for MotoGP.

He seems to be excited about everything even if what's happening isn't exactly exciting(A mclaren car overtaking a midpack team is not exactly something to be excited about) :hehe:

At least we'll be able to watch all the races :D
