FP1 is just the way I thought it would be... McLaren on top, then Red Bull. Hamilton was really pushing that car, Button had some problems with stability, especially in Parabolica. Red Bull drivers were driving, IMHO, with a bit more fuel. Mercedes ran with the highest fuel load.

are you going on times for fuel loads or do you know for certain? will have to wait and see how Mercedes does in FP2 as it could be a problem with the new camber settings, braking or setup for attacking the kerbs.

Hamilton looks very strong here from first practice. RBR drivers more evenly matched. Button needs to remedy his oversteer otherwise I think he could be looking at 4th.

Only problem with that quote is that Rubens was much closer to Jenson than he is currently with Vettel so you could twist it around and argue Vettel has no real competition.

Webber's had his chances and even as a fan of him I can recognise that the buck ultimately lies with him and trying to belittle other driver's WDCs because you don't have one is a rather bitter frame of mind.

The thing is that in 20 years time new people to the sport will say "Button, yeah he won the championship."

Like I already said, a possible battle between Vettel and Hamilton is looking closer and closer...

Looking at the longer runs between the RBR drivers I wouldn't count Webber out. He just needs to sort the start out, but after Vettel facing similar problems in Spa I expect there was more motivation to sort their side of the issue out. Maybe Vettel taught him a thing or two.

Webber is the weakest starter this year! It's a disgrace, if you ask me!

Looks like a battle between McLaren and Red Bull this time round. Unless Ferrari have been sandbagging.

McLaren 1-2 in P1, and Vettel heading Hamilton in P2.

Button and the team need to sort that oversteer, it looks like a hindrance.

Schumacher up to 3rd in P2. Another good weekend on the cards? Has bettered Rosberg in both sessions so far.

Ham looked to be on a P1 in FP2 if not for the Torro Rosso getting in the way at Parabolica.

I think both teams still have something in the bag though. McLaren looking mighty on the straights. And Lewis' kerb hopping skills will easily keep him ahead of his teammate.

Nice to see Ferrari struggling at their home race. Hope it continues through the weekend.

I'd hardly call 4th and 5th struggling, especially as we don't know what fuel loads and other variables the teams were running.
