You didnt post 3 instances of him not managing pressure. You showed 3 mistakes. Every driver makes mistakes. Managing pressure is, despite the mitakes, keeping his head on the important thing: the championship.

Perhaps your right, but dont you think its awful convenient that he NEVER makes mistakes when leading, but this mistakes came right at times we was massively pressured for the lead of the race? Thats telling imo.
Every driver makes mistakes, but none of them bar Vettel only make mistakes when someones really up their jacksy, if them three instances dont convince you we could add more.....

Ok, this is getting rather confusing. If a driver makes mistakes only when under 'massive pressure' as you say, rather than like others who make mistakes whether under pressure or not....that's a good thing. You are seriously making an argument that it's better to make mistakes when not under pressure than to make them only when under pressure? I can't even fathom where you are coming from here. You say Vettel is the only one who ONLY makes mistakes when someone is 'up his jacksy'..... Well, that's the kind of driver I want. Another driver who crashes out when he isn't under pressure....I don't want that guy anywhere near my car.

As far as Vettel's mistakes go, we've all seen other drivers throw a large lead out the window with silly mistakes or overaggressive driving. Seb has shown no sign of that thus far. Vettel has grown a lot in the last year in my eyes...basically by refusing to believe he is perfect already and striving to learn from his mistakes and change accordingly. I'm starting to believe we are all witnessing the birth of the next legend.

No i said nothing like what your saying ive said.

Its as simple as this;

Someone said Vettel is Mr i can handle pressure, fair enough right?

I said how strange that i came to a totally different conclusion yet both of us are watching the same races. I find Vettel cracks when under pressure.

I said personally, and i stressed that its only what im seeing, Vettel doesnt make mistakes when hes out leading comfortably, and he does well to put himself int he position where he is leading comfortably, by using his speed.

I posted instances which i feel prove Vettel isnt good at handling pressure, thats not to say he cant, its just more often then not i think he cant.

I said he never makes mistakes when leading comfortably, a great atrribute, but everytime ive seen him actually properly fighting for his win, he does make a mistake. I say everytime because most of the time hes finding it too easy to win and therefore only a few times does anyone come close to challenging him.

I found it strange and to be fair stupid for someone to suggest they arent "pressured" mistakes, theyre mistakes "everyone makes", i found it stupid because Vettel doesnt make mistakes, but when he does it has ALWAYS been when someone is right behind him or he has to properly fight for the win.

I then discussed some strong and weak points of the other two top drivers to put it in perspective, Vettels method of winning is doing it in quali, Alonsos method is collecting good points and wins along the way consisntely, Hamiltons is win or bust and racing other people for the win, starting lower then first and fighting for it in races.

Hopefully thats cleared it up, just my opinion on the matter of Vettel under pressure.

What you say about witnessing the next legend, i think anyone with two titles is a legend, but if you mean schumacher 7 title kind of legend, then i dont agree at all, and im pretty damn confident in being right, i think a lot of people will be suprised and dissapointed when the car hes driving isnt quite as good as it has been and he hits earth with a thud after these last two dream years.

Interesting hypothesis. How about this. If Vettel wins another championship next year or the year following....you agree that DD issues you an IP ban...not a screen lock out, but an IP ban. If Hamilton does...I agree to the same. Friendly wagers are always big fun. :)

Thats not a wager or a bet, thats a gamble. Im not gambling away using this forum.

I dont know what i could possibly get from this gamble either, not least because theres no major rule changes for next year, and for the last three years red bull has consisntely been the top car....

Ip ban wouldnt do much anyway given the four things i have that access the internet, 3 laptops over two routers and an ipod thats interchangeable.......

Monza 2008 tells me otherwise.

That's quite a high stakes bet there verging on sheer stupidity!

I'm starting to believe we are all witnessing the birth of the next legend.

Time will tell, it just might be the case. 2 titles at this age he might be on for a bakers dozen by the time he is through!

Depends how long he stays in F1. There was a daft report a couple days ago saying that Vettel has no idea what he is going to be doing in 4 or 5 years time, which led to speculation that he will retire this side of 30!

Kind of like, he came, he saw, he conquered and then he promptly left.

Billin, I'm willing to take this wager. Bloody hell I keep making bets to take with people here and no one entertains me!

Are we on? If Vettel wins the WDC in 2012 and 2013 I don't even mind a screen lockout. There are other forums out there. :P

If Lewis wins the next two, you're 'banned' from posting but still able to see me rejoicing and raving about Lewis' mastery on track in this forum.

Depends what you're looking for. You're best to spread over 2 or 3 sites and get a good range of news and info. 4 would be too many.

The F1 sites that I use regularly at the moment are f1.com, bbc.co.uk/f1, autosport.com, motorsport.com, mclaren.com and this one for the forum.

When it comes to the forums, I have discussed F1 on various platforms and forums... BBC 606, BBC article discussion, Facebook, McLaren's own members forum and the forum on autosport.

But I decided that this is my favourite forum, and is currently the only forum that I devote any serious amount of time to.

And as for this thread, it's about Vettel. :wavey::P

Do I have to rattle off his epic Toro Rosso races again?
