How many more GP starts for heidfield? How many more racing laps with the 2011 regs. Don't use your hate for his uncle to slate this guy prematurely.

So what if I wasn't a fan of his uncle? I like this guy, he has a lot of promise. His lack of experience was his down fall, as he mentioned in an interview about 10 minutes ago (if anything, I think he was a bit harsh on himself, but at least he was honest). I really don't see where you're getting the hate angle here. I like both Heidfeld and Senna.

It appears you're being overly critical comparing him to Heidfeld. Bt given Heidfeld on average being out qualified by 4 tenths a race to petrov for Senna to out qualify petrov first up is a damnn good start. Race craft he has, fine tuning it to get up to scratch to the new regs he doesn't. Senna has done something Heidfeld didn't his last two race, which is finish.

Arggh, shame about how it went for Bruno today, was way too ambitious into the first corner there. But hey, this is a bloody difficult track for someone with little recent experience, so I'm hoping for better in Monza!

What was good to see is he didn't flip out after the carnage, he just kept a cool head and worked his way back to 13th. Hopefully there'll be points in Monza, as Petrov proved the car is capable of getting them, even with fading brakes.

Yeah it's a helluva track to have your first race in(I don't count HRT-not a competitive car). MS also had a hard time in his debut there. He burnt out his clutch and retired.

Actually, the clutch problem was known about and Schumacher asked for it to be changed but Eddie Jordan said no. I guess $150,000 from Merc didn't cover the cost of a clutch.

I sold my TV so was giving up on ever watching Formula One again, but a friend invited me around. When I saw where he qualified, my jaw dropped. Because I was completely writing him off. Now let's compare him to Chandhok, who's first race back in Lotus was just ugly. Senna has had what - pre-season testing, and one Friday practice, and this weekend he regularly outpaced his team mate.

A couple of months ago I said that there are no more up-and-comings quite as exciting as Vettel was, and I was starting to lose interest - but we can see quite clearly that this man has a lot of talent. It will be interesting to see what he does in the next few years - but already I am going to say, this man will be a world champion. I said the same thing about Vettel in his early days at STR.

Yeah - the race didn't go as planned, but the point is he still recovered and got the best position available to him given the circumstances.

I'm ready to eat my humble pie... after being proven wrong on Chandhok and wrong on Senna. However, Chandhok will still hopefully get a few more chances to prove himself again.

I think some of you may have premature ejacul*tion for Senna and his "pace" in Qualifying, with conditions like that, and we've seen it many times, you catch the weather at the right time and you can move up easily but the race result speaks for itself, yes Petrov finish 8th but 5 other guys drop out, Senna finished where he was expected, Renault is not a top ten car.

Senna diddnt just 'catch the weather', he was ahead of Petrov in all the practise sessions as well as quali.

Shame about the race but that was the first time he'd ever driven the car on full tanks and in the dry. Its a steep learnng curve for him. At least he went on to finish the race.

I don't think you should underestimate the difficulty he had to cope with. Drove nearly nothing with that car and tyres before, never started a race with that car, and on top of that, it was wet. I think he did an excellent job. Well yes, the accident @ the first corner was a bit stupid, but as said before, never started on the dry and a full fuel load (although before the formation lap, they told him over the radio he should watch out for that  ).

Before this weekend, I was suprised how much criticism the guy received from a lot of people on different fora, fb, and so on.
It seems having Senna as a name is a blessing but also a big curse. A lot of people expect him to come in
and be like Ayrton was. That's not gonna happen. And when he does a bad thing, he gets shot down. Seems a bit unfair.

During this weekend he showed he actually has the raw speed, now it's up to him to improve and show he can win races.

Senna did well to qualify up in seventh but it was a rookie mistake (he is basically still a rookie) off the start; got a little over zealous in the first corner, understeered into Algersauri which ultimately ended the race of the Toro Rosso driver, drive through penalty was 100% deserved, unfortunately Senna never recovered and ended up behind Petrov. If Senna can tame his exuberance, he clearly has the raw speed, he just needs to work on his race-craft, let's see how he does at Monza; although the Renault is not exactly the strongest in straight line speed as needed in Italy!

I dont think it was exuberance, as i said before he's not driven the car in the dry on full tanks..not even to practise. He was absolutely in at the deap end. Now he knows how it feels and reacts; but he didnt on Sunday.

I think Senna did a good job this weekend. Qualified well, finished the race and on the lead lap... considering a drive through and an extra pit stop for a new nose.

It will be great to watch how things go from here. Renault started out of the gate so promising (at the beginning of the season I had them ahead of Merc on my list), but have been lagging back into the midfield. Petrov and Senna are both drivers I like to watch. Lets hope that Eric B. can get the team back on form for next year.
