LOL a hippy F1 forum!!

btw Petrov will trash Senna, in this season at least, but Heidfeld actually accomplished nothing. That's too bad for him, but right now for Renault it does seem much more interesting to run Senna and see how fast he can be. As long as he doesnt crash out, he coud give some good surprise; i mean considering he was used to driving that hrt around last position... antything better would be a good surprise

I don't expect Bruno Senna to do better than Heidfeld has been doing, but I do figure he will improve, whereas Heidfeld might be considered past his sell by date. I mean, he was a bright star but maybe he has peaked. He was championship material but perhaps that ship has sailed. Then again, were he to be the #1 in a Red Bull he could probably still do it.

Any offical word yet? Gotta have some confirmation soon!

Senna is in for Spa definitely. More to be revealed tomorrow.

Heidfeld's profile has been removed from the LRGP site, which is ominous... don't expect to see him back.

Sounds like they had a major falling out!

If Renault are firing him based on his haircut more than his driving, I'll find it harder to defend Heidi.

While I believe Nick is a good peddler, he is no star....

As Renault stated, race pace is great, but he's starting too far down the grid in relation to his ultimate pace. These guys need to be on it from first practice. That's what they are required to do, if you can't, well, there are plenty others who can. You can't afford to spend millions to find 0.5 sec in lap time, and have a driver give 0.3 sec back until Sunday afternoon....

I believe Nick was fortunate to get the Renault call up. I don't think he delivered to Renault what they wanted in 'leadership' of a lead driver, and ultimately, speed. Renault have provided ample time for him to prove his place. Renault have done the right thing in promoting their test driver. Senna now has his chance. Three GP's should be enough to gauge his long term potential. I still think Roman is "Renault's man", and they would hand him another chance is they could.

Jury is still out on Senna for me. The GP2 comparison hold validity for me, as they are a tightly specced car. You really have to do something wrong setup wise to make it handle like a dog....Of course F1is a huge step up, in the technicalities and processes involved, let alone working out the tyres.

I seriously hope he does well. Yes, it's all because of the Senna name that he has such great expectation on his shoulders, but it would be magic to have a new Senna at the front.

Nick Heidfeld is a solid driver. He can bring the car home and get the points, but he's never been the best. After over a decade in the sport, with no major success, it's now time to hand the reigns over to someone younger.

Roman Grosjean's name has been mentioned a few times. He's another guy who I would love to see get another chance. He didn't have much opportunity with Renault back in '09.

But for the moment, I'm putting my hopes behind Senna, and hoping he does really well. It's just a bummer that the Renault team has been going backwards rather than forwards, as the season has progressed.

This is gonna get messy, Heidfeld has taken legal action to try and get his seat back.

What happened to drivers just getting the sack and that being it?!

Worst thing Heidfeld could have done in my opinion.....

Even if he wins in court, he's already lost in the garage, especially if data ends up showing that Senna is quicker.
Life would be hard for Nick, as he won't be there next year. If there might only be one development part available, Vitaly will get it. The team, (and Renault) will not divulge any sensitive information anymore either.

If the management don't want you anymore, whats the point. He's had his last paid drive in Formula 1.......

Sounds like Heidfeld will try to contest it this weekend..

My fear is Bruno won't get comfortable in the car or get enough time, seing how reports say Heidfeld was fully decked out at Spa so far.
