Been meaning to open this thread for a while and thought it would give us a handle on who goes where in 2012. So far I think the grid looks like this:

Red Bull Renault = Vettel and Webber
McLaren Mercedes = Button and Hamilton
Scuderia Ferrari = Alonso and Massa
Mercedes GP = Schumacher and Rosberg
Lotus Renault = Kubica or Grosjean (if Kubica is not fit enough) and Petrov
Sauber Ferrari = Kobiyashai and Perez
Toro Rosso Ferarri = Riciardo and Alguersauri
Force India Mercedes = Sutil and di Resta
Williams Renault = Barrichello or Hulkenberg and Maldanado
Team Lotus Renault = Kovalinenn and Trulli if he doesn't retire
Hispania Cosworth = Liuzzi and Gutierez
Virgin Mercedes (if other Merc teams allow, if not back to Cosworth) = Glock and D'Ambrosio

Any thoughts?

You need new socks.

Yes I know, I'll go shopping at some point but this thread is about the 2011/2012 F1 Silly Season. I don't think my socks will be racing. :hehe:

Edited with my picks (it's pretty similar though really):

Red Bull Renault = Vettel and Webber
McLaren Mercedes = Button and Hamilton
Scuderia Ferrari = Alonso and Massa
Mercedes GP = Schumacher and Rosberg
Lotus Renault = Kubica or Grosjean (if Kubica is not fit enough, and depending on how well Senna goes) and Petrov
Sauber Ferrari = Kobiyashai and Perez
Toro Rosso Ferarri = Riciardo and Alguersauri
Force India Mercedes = Di Resta and Hulkenburg
Williams Renault = Sutil and Maldanado
Team Lotus Renault = Kovalinenn and Trulli if he doesn't retire
Hispania Cosworth = No Idea...
Virgin Mercedes = Glock and D'Ambrosio

Virgin Mercedes (if other Merc teams allow, if not back to Cosworth)

I'm pretty sure they are still going to use Cosworth power, but given they just signed a technical partnership with McLaren who also have a partnership with Force India that leaves Mercedes GP as the only thing in the way of Virgin using Merc engines.

Looking at that list I still wonder about the Lewis Hamilton move to Red Bull for 2013.

Obviously depends how things turn out in 2012 but I could see that story returning again at some point.

It won't happen ever. Hamilton will live out his career at McLaren. Ricciardo and Buemi are destined for Red Bull once Webber retires and Vettel eventually moves to Merc (if they are still around) or Ferrari.

I want Senna and Petrov at Renault. Kubica can be reserve driver while he gets better.

The Hamilton-to-Red Bull rumour is growing fungi, it's that old...

...not to mention foosty!

He very nearly is better. There is word of him having a go in a simulator pretty soon and getting into a car not long after that I think.
