No DRS through Eau Rouge in qualies, which they should have called the anti-Vettel rule, as he makes most aggressive use of it in qualies.

Does he? The Red Bull system is not the best. Besides, it's the same for everyone, no-one is able to use their DRS through Eau Rouge.

I think the same, mate! The cars now are so much safer, they just don't want him to show just how brave he could be...

You both serious?

Embarassing, but they do seem to be.

I'm quite serious. RBR's bread and butter all season has been getting on the power sooner than everyone else, or remaining flat-out where others have had to lift. It's a necessity driven by the fact that the Rinnow lump is down at least 25 bhp to the other front runners.

In qualies, Vettel was activating his DRS on entry to the third apex of Turkey's Turn 8. At Monaco, he was opening it while still exiting Portier and leaving it open through the tunnel, all the way to the chicane. In Q3, he was quickest in all three sectors there, despite the general belief before the race that the RBRs wouldn't be able to hold their own through the Loews complex.

When his slide rule tells him it's the thing to do, Newey configures Vettel's DRS to optimize drive off the corners in Q3 at the expense of top speed. It was widely held that no one could use DRS before Turn 8's fourth apex at Turkey. Or before exiting the tunnel at Monaco. Yet Vettel did both. If anyone could give it the wellie all the way from La Source to Les Combes with DRS open, that would be Vettel.

They're afraid the remainder of the field will decimate itself trying to match him through Eau Rouge. It's the anti-Vettel rule.

Don't forget the wire coat hangers hanging from the ceiling. :hehe:

Are we really to believe that the FIA have banned DRS through Eau Rouge to stop Vettel? So are we ignoring who actually has the best DRS system then.

It's for safety grounds, nothing more.

.

In high DF circuits, where RB could open DRS earlier. Spa is 80% full throttle for ALL top runners due to low DF characteristics of the track so your tinfoil hat theory doesn't make any sense.
They're all running Spa/Monza RW setups,so most DF shed from DRS is already gone.
