Wow...

Amazing how 'names' can help your career. Good sponsorship and 'branding' for Renault I guess. Senna barely beat the average Karun Chandok.

Look forward to Vitaly Petrov kicking his butt in these 8 races.

Let's see if Senna really can live upto his famous surname

Oh please don't do that! He is his own guy and should be judged as being his own person. It's only a name after all. I actually prefer Bruno Senna to Ayrton Senna. BS definitely has both feet firmly planted on the ground unlike his Uncle who having watched footage of him, I don’t like one little bit!

Oh please now ive heard it all.

Yet again jumping on what I write(!) :nono: Yes I would not have been a fan of Ayrton Senna. Whoopdedoo.

Ever wonder why people continuously jump on your opinion?

It's not just coincidence.

Cmon guys, i dont see what the harm in replacing Quick Nick (who is now a snail) with a guy that never really got a fair chance,

THE SAME PEOPLE THAT ARGUE HIS SURNAME HELPED HIM IN HIS CAREER SO ITS UNFAIR, IT IS ALSO UNFAIR TO DISMISS HIM AND RIDICULE HIM FOR THE EXACT SAME REASON.

Christ Hypocrisy does rule doesnt it.

Forget his second names Senna, just let a driver that had a hard time in motorsport, only being allowed to race at like 17 or something, have his fair crack at it, the HRT was hardly a car for anyone to show anything in was it.

Theres absolutely no harm in doiing it, Nick Heidfeld whole career has been as a journeyman, guve someone else a go, and if Senna doesnt show an ounce of promise, then get Grosjean in for next year.

Most likely that I speak my mind but Bud will tell me he is having a joke. As always, if you don't like it, don't read it.

Got to agree with that. Renault have nothing to loose by shuffling their drivers around a bit. I'm glad they chose Senna first rather than Grosjean, who hardly set the track alight when he replaced Piquet Jr. In fact he was every bit as good (or bad) as Piquet Jr.

Andrew why do you always get upset after you write something that leaves you open to criticism?
I remember calling you a whinging Pom in jest, but I think it's turning out to be pretty accurate, having Scottish family i found Scots usually can dish it out and take it like Aussies... Why can't you?
#271033
Unfortunately for Heidfeld when you are paid to drive you have to display superhuman ability. If you aren't paid, but rather bring money to the team, you get away with mediocrity. I'm not saying BS will be mediocre, just saying he won't be under such scrutiny.

Enough with the s*** talk on senna. Jesus christ, heidfeld came into Senna's House and robbed him of a chance of taking Kubica's place. Smart move at first, but he hasn't done anything to shine. Its only fair to let senna have a shot for the remainder of the season.

Heidfeld's the better Renault driver this year!

And what exactly has "Senna" proven? Forget HRT, he didn't really set the track alight in the lower formulas now did he? That name has been carrying him through, and now in F1!

On the other hand, Nico Rosberg has the name...AND the talent to deserve a top seat! No one's complaining about him filling up a seat in Mercedes!

I think Petrov has been the better driver. Cant wait to see that new pairing.

Having nearly a decade out of racing then coming back and being competitive in the shark pool that is lower formula racing almost immediately is nothing short of incredible. That is not an overstatement.

In the 2008 GP2 season, he finished runner up, 12 points behind Pantano who won. He was robbed by two unfair penalties in that season, and also had a dog run in front of his car in Turkey forcing him to retire. He won the feature race at Monaco.

In that season he finished ahead (and in some cases WELL ahead) of many other drivers who have since graduated to F1:

Di Grassi
Grosjean
Petrov - yes he finished ahead of the driver he'll be joining at Renault by nearly double his points haul
Maldonado
Buemi
Chandhok
D'Ambrosio
Kobayashi - by six times his points haul

He finished ahead of all of those, some of those I'm sure you'll consider to be decent F1 racers? They're not all terrible?

I think the complete opposite, people judge Bruno much more aggresively because of his family name. Any other driver without that family name would be judged on the basis of being runner up in GP2 with a win at Monaco and beating that list of drivers as being quite formidable.

He's never going to be as good as his Uncle, but then you could count on the fingers of one hand the amount of people in the entire history of F1 that are / were...

Surely this one line renders the whole argument void. Kobayashi must of been driving a milk float in GP2..........
