I don't know what I'm looking forward to more. Communication Breakdown or more funky shorts! :D

Where do you get the tabs for Led Zeppelin? They disappeared from Ultimate Guitar a while ago. I'm not good enough on the guitar to work out most tabs but I reckon I'd be pretty handy on the bass. I end up playing more bass tabs on the guitar than guitar tabs at the moment!

Im stuc in a rut at the moment, im a theory virgin, dont know a thing, i go to learn from the start from a book or internet site and i hear this:

"so you want to learn gutiar, first we'll learn chord structures and scales, starting in E#maj7 ........"

Im like wtf is wrong with you turdbags, IM A COMPLETE NOVICE! I DONT KNOW WHAT EMAJ7 IS!?!

Seriously they ALL do it, just assume you know it, im yet to find one that says, right lets get something straight, you dont know f*ck all. But when i do ill be like thank god for that. I dont know scales, i know basic chords and thats it, and ive only recently found the time to actually put some effort into learning the theory.

As for your question, my type of music is covered in video lessons, which are so much better then tabs for two reasons;

1. The tabs are usually dog s*it.

2. Video lessons encourage you to learn by ear cause you cant always see exactly what fingers are going where, just roughly on the fretboard, and the players play the songs almost exactly unlike tabs.

Called Vanderbilly.com. Bass tabs are usually easiest cause theres only four strings and its only basslines really. Although Communication Breakdowns does get a bit "improvy". So in short only use tabs for really simple or chorded songs, for anything else look a youtube covers and teach yourself.

Thanks FRAFPDD I'll give that go.

I bought Guitar for Dummies when I bought my guitar a couple years ago (I was in a book shop looking at the music biographies saw this and thought why not? I have disposable income!). It's pretty good and takes through the simple chords and into the ones that require you to dislocate your fingers.

Lol yeah that cover up there above i just subsituted chords when i couldnt get them, its a simple song to learn what goes where and speed, but the chord changes can be awkward, as you can see, i didnt quite get some of them right, but i only learnt it the evening before.

Some chords want you to use all five fingers, and then use the index one on an entire fret, i just dont bother, sometimes you notice when playing that it doesnt quite match the song cause your muting or plain missing a certain string, but usually you can get away with it.

It's the ones that need you to use your thumb on the low E that I really struggle with!

I staved my thumb many years ago playing football at school (made an excellent save but man did it hurt!) so my left thumb is slightly thicker than my right and doesn't bend as much as I'd want it but I'm getting there with a bit of practice.

Heres another one, literally only started learning about 2 oclock today, bit rough in places but too easy really so put on on to add to my collection.

Communication Breakdown will be next.

One day I will have this style of Telecaster to go with my Les Paul (replica). And I'll have a Rickenbacker 4001 and a Eccleshall bass. I'll also have loadsamoney by then! It's an aim to have in life I suppose. :D

It's nice to see that we have musicians on forum! :wavey:
I myself play a bass guitar, been in a few Hard/Heavy bands, now oriented more to some Pop/Jazz/Rock moments. :D

Here's one bass solo some while ago in some god forsaken place! :hehe:

I was a bit drunk, sound is a bit quiet, but you can hear most of the tones! :wavey:
