Good post. Ecclestone is not so much of a problem, indeed, Formula One would not be where is today without him. Yes, he's slightly greedy, but the real problem is the FIA.
Ayrton Senna: WDC 1988, 1989, 1990, 1991
McLaren: WCC 1974, 1984, 1985, 1988, 1989, 1990, 1991, 1998, 1999, 2007
McLaren: WDC 1974, 1976, 1984, 1985, 1986, 1988, 1989, 1990, 1991, 1998, 1999, 2008
I think it's a bit harsh for people to criticise Bernie and want him out. What has he ever really done wrong? The only real fault I see in him is that he's a bit greedy, but nobody's perfect. Bernie doesn't make the rules like Max Mosley does, Bernie owns the sport and the FIA runs it.
Bernie was one of the people who tried to stop the Indy 2005 fiasco from happening, he tried to talk Max into allowing the proposed temporary chicane to be installed at the final turn, but we all know what happened... Max said no, the Michelin runners boycotted, the rest is history.
F1 really would fall apart if Bernie left, and let's hope he doesn't anytime soon.
