Environmentally conscious because F1 is a testing ground for performance innovation. Heading towards a more eco friendly engine is not to save Co2 of the F1 cars but to act as an inspiration and development platform for the road going auto users where Co2 is a problem.
But then they have races that go from Middle East, to far east, to europe, to south america, to middle east?
Its one mind for one thing and another for another thing.
Im pretty sure one transatlantic flight from London to New York uses as much fuel as all the F1 cars do in an entire season, if not more. Im also pretty sure that these planes are flying about constantly, starting in say, the 1970's.
Dont see people moaning about them, infact, i dont see people moaning about F1, they just chose to get all green under seemingly no pressure at all.
F1 is a sport, a motor RACING sport, innovations like KERS that i believe Mercedes C class use now is helpful, downsizing engines does not create green innovation, it just lessens the spectacle for no good reason.
