Not a joke, a reality. It happened in 1986. Look what that team had going for it
Team- Team Hass USA one of America's most successful racing teams
Funding-Megabucks deal with Beatrice foods of $80mil over 5 years for the F1 team alone
Drivers- Alan Jones (returning world champion)and Patrick Tambay
Running the team -Teddy Mayer and Tyler Alexander former McLaren men
Designers-Neil Oatley (Williams) John Baldwin (Brabham)
Engines- 3 year exclusive deal to run the Cosworth turbo
chasis- THL1 dubbed a Lola but actuallybuilt by FORCE
And also onboard new young prospects Brawn and Newey
The team had a buzz about it and Brawn reckoned it had real potential but the sponsors got taken over in some coporate dealing and then pulled the plug. So what happened next?
Brawn joined Arrows
Cosworth went to Benetton
Oatley went to McLaren
Newey was redeployed to newman/Hass to engineer Mario Andretti's indycar-later he became March's technical director
Alan Jones walked away for good
And guess who picked up the remains of FORCE...a certain Bernie Ecclestone!
I wonder how different F1 would look now if that sponsorshiop had stayed in place??
I know this is really history section but thought it could come in here since it involves today's big hitters.

You can fool all the people some of the time, and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time.
