Another terrible street circuit. That's all f1 needs.

A question. Which street circuit do you think is the best?

Absolutely no question, Montreal. In fact Montreal is one of the best tracks period. More racing, passing and excitment from beginning to end than another track on the calendar. It's also one of the best attended F1 race weekends of the year with over 300,000 fans (Silverstone 285,000).

Best answer ever. My favourite street circuit too.:clap:

I'm not entirely sold on the idea that Montreal is a street circuit.

I think it's classed as semi-permanent, isn't it?

There may be street traffic in portions of the circuit there at times but it looks at least 75 percent purpose built.

can i ask a question, why not go back to watkins glen???

The track would need a huge amount of modernisation and safety improvements. As far as I know the track would not meet the minimum requirements for F1.

I've got my heart set on F1 coming to Sydney when the agreement with Melbourne expires. A street Grand Prix through The Rocks, set right on Sydney Harbour.. :cloud9::cloud9::cloud9:

Looks fine if you want a procession with no overtaking. Far too tight for any racing.

How wide is the average Grand Prix piece of track? The section I showed is the most picturesque but would be the narrowest section of the circuit. It widens up a fair bit in parts around the area, which would make for some overtaking.

You can't class all street circuits as processional I mean how many purpose built circuits of late have been hard to overtake on! One word Tilke

It's not the design with the Tilke circuit (with the exception of Bahrain), it's the cars that prevent overtaking.

You could say the same about any track couldn't you?

Some more than others.

Address the problems with the cars and then we'll see how good or bad Tilke's circuits are. However, tracks that are stupidly narrow like Monaco will never suit F1.

Each to their own.. I personally love Monaco. This years' race was a real classic.

Tilke's tracks get more :censored: than they deserve. Bahrain, Valencia and Abu Dhabi aside, Sepang, Shanghai, Istanbul, Korea and Singapore have all provided excellent racing. Unfortunately, it's Istanbul Park that's getting dropped. :banghead:

Furthermore, Singapore was actually designed by KBR, Inc. They modified the initial ideas of Herman Tilke to create what we have now.

The MotoGP races at the Tilke tracks have been good. Other series have raced on these tracks and have not been processional. The real problem in F1 is the cars.

Singapore is not a Tilke track but it is still pretty poor.

Excellent question!

And the answer would be, where would you put the f@king yachts?!?!

Seneca Lake (you can reach the Atlantic from Seneca lake via the St. Lawrence Seaway).

For a race event, fine, its ok, for glamour no one is bringing there yaughts down the hudson river. Poor choice. Go west coast or go florida/carolina area

Well thankfully, the races this season have not been processional. And the Tilke tracks have been great (except Valencia).

There is only 2 Tilke tracks left in MotoGp now days, Sepang and Qatar. Imagine another F1 race in the middle east at Qatar, now that circuit would be a procession for F1 cars, another Bahrain except it would be under lights at night.

Sorry make that 3 Tilke tracks in MotoGp, forgot about Motorland Aragon in Spain, which is probably better than both Catalunya and Valencia in F1

Bahrain (the standard layout, not the endurance layout we got in 2010) isn't a bad circuit for overtaking. It would certainly benefit now that we're on to Pirelli tyres.
