But would Webber be interested in them?

That depends on whether he is racing because he loves racing or extending his career for the big money that RB offers, let's face it he is never going to win a title with RB with golden boy around!

Webber is not championship material regardless. He's never really set the track alight and there are younger faster drivers around.

If he didn't spin in Korea last year, it would be his RB that has the number 1 on it.

I saw this interview on our pre race coverage here, I don't see it can be lost in translation given that Marko was saying this in English... :hehe:

End of the day retire or not 2012 will be Webbers last year at RedBull. He may get another seat somewhere to prolong his career.

Ah, if only Kubica could drive by then (which I really doubt). Kubica in Red Bull. As a McLaren guy myself, that would make me crap my pants. But it would be pure awesome.

Last I heard (about a month ago), Kubica was still targeting a return for Brazil THIS year.

No one knows how Kubica will be after the accident. Massa had a head injury and he seems to have lost some sharpness. No way the Massa of today was the same which was giving Kimi a hard time!

I fear Webber will be replaced by Ricciardo under the mistaken premise of building for the future. The only future of Formula One that matters is the next race and finishing on the podium. If Ricciardo comes out of the gates like a Hamilton or Vettel, Marko will have made his only good decision. To use Bud's paraphrase, "at the end of the day"............I don't give a $h*t, I bleed McLaren. :hehe::hehe:

Found an article which said Kubica hopes to race in 2012, so you never know what the future holds. You're right though, it would be very scary! Although personally I'd prefer to see him in a Ferrari. That's just me.

Webber TBH has been helped an awful lot by the quality of the RB car. It's as simple as that. He was in the running for the title last year, but this season he has clearly lost that drive. He sadly won't ever be in that position again. We've seen glimpses of magic from him this season, especially in China in that inspiring drive from 18th - but apart from that it's been excuse after excuse from him. I sound like a broken record but stick Alonso or Hamilton in the Red Bull and watch them zoom off in the far distance. Webber IMO is passed it - poor start after poor start, little tantrums in press conferences, claims of 'conspiracy' etc etc. He's just not consistent enough to warrant a spot in the best car on the grid. Harsh, but true.

I sincerely doubt it. Vettel is faster.

Ricciardo replacing Webber in the future like Marko said would be all sweet for me as its a aussie reaplacing a aussie so no problems there for me. I'm already a massive fan of Ricciardo and I hope he can have a great future in F1. I wonder if Marko has sort of given up slightly on Buemi and Algey and is thinking that Ricciardo is the best man to be taking Webber's seat when the time comes.

I've got my fingers crossed for Ricciardo too. He's a very likeable character, a top driver and with HRT should hopefully give him a little experience. It's the first time in a long time I've consistently been interested in the battle of the tail-enders. Luizzi and Daniel have been pretty comparable so far, and I predict Ricciardo will rise above for the last half of the season.

So much for driver academies. :hehe:

Too right!!

Toro Rosso has been a F1 drivers grave (except Vettel) so maybe Ricciardo starting at HRT might not be a bad thing at all.

To be fair they haven't really been around long enough to get a good idea. See how Buemi/Algy turn out IMO.

You doubt what? That doesnt make sense to what I said. Webber was leading most of last year more than any other driver and nearly did win the title and you say he is not championship material. Its true this year he has struggled but given Marko's ways who knows what Redbull are doing to him.

He choked at a crucial moment. You are looking for a conspiracy where one does not exist. Marko is just an advisor and as far as I know works as Mateschitz's eyes and ears in the pit garage. He voices his opinion but I doubt he has any real say in the goings on of team management. Ultimately that is down to Mateschitz and Horner.

If Webber wants to win then he better start driving quicker.
