Bernie change it back :nono:

It seems it wasn't down to him. The BBC and Sky are in bed together and FOTA own the bed.

THe BBC, Sky and FOTA don't seem to care about the less wealthy and/or ethical fans. Nothing new there then.

I've just tested RTL coverage and it's working fine. 10 races on the BBC and the rest with the Germans for me (with 5Live commentary).

I have never enjoyed watching F1 so much, since the been took it over, itv was terrible with those horrendous Sony adverts butting in on the action!
I can't believe that the BBC is letting so many people down!
Loose one of those boring soaps or stupid reality TV shows and give dedicated fans all of the races like we deserve!

How do I get RTL's coverage? Money is a severe obsticle.

We had a satellite dish put up years ago when I was a kid for about £80. We pick up anything from Astra and Hotbird which includes over 1000 channels and, thankfully, some F1 coverage.

This my first time on the F1 forum as I don't normally do this sort of thing. I just had to get my feelings out!

I feel completely let don't by Bernie! The coverage by the BBC is outstanding and well worth the licence fee on its own. I will not be giving my money to Sky for various reasons in order to watch this beautiful sport. If I can't watch it live I don't see the point. These are my feelings and the feelings of many people I know. As on the end of the year, it pains me to say this, but F1 will be losing my support leaving a gaping whole in my life!

Dispite the excuses given for handing over to Sky, my opinion is that it is all about greed! Sky cannot lend anything benifitial to the sport - instead it will reduce the number of viewers/fans and take the sport down. With less fans, Silverstone will be the next circuit to be dropped from the F1 calender.

I am truly gutted! :'-(

Don't forget to sign the petition people and then send the link to as many people as you can. Google 'formula 1 petition' and then go to the f1times website.

Absolutely gutted!

Another example of the great BBC coverage. Well done to them, it's tremendous. :cloud9:

Today was an example of how well the BBC team do a show if they are allowed to. The Tyre feature by Martin Brundle, was informative and added interest for the viewer. The Pit stop race was a bit of fun. The Paddock/grid walk by all of the journalists, gave a measured feeling of the atmosphere rather than the usually breathless run around by Martin. Superb coverage and it is so sad that the BBC bosses ripped up a perfectly valid contract. If they had continued until 2013, then other terestial broadcasters were ready to take their place. This must sure have been the best option because if they had simply stopped broadcasting as they threatened to do, they would have paid such a big penalty it would likely to have been cheaper to carry on.

I suggest the line put out by the BBC, was all flannel as they needed to clear the airways for even more indulgent Olympics coverage.

I only watch the race, I don't bother with the Eddie Jordan spouting crap session before or after the race and I had the Radio 5 commentary on. So I was on the cut price coverage. If everyone does this the BBC could save a fortune! :D

That rules that out for me. I doubt the Landlord would be too happy if I went drilling holes in the wall for a dish plus there's the cost.

It would be nice to see F1 drivers step up and state for the record that they will not give any interviews to Sky next year.

Ayre that wud be a good one.
Or just refuse to race...

I guess i'll be going back to watching Speed next year for 10 races. That really sucks too cause i've just recently starting watching the BBC's coverage. I really hope BBC covers the USGP even though I plan on being there.

Anyone thinking of boycotting the BBC coverage will be doing nothing but hurting themselves and maybe even hasten the move to pay TV only F1 coverage. The deal has been done and no amount of boycotts or complaints to the BBC, FOTA, FOM or Sky will make a blind bit of difference, I'd rather watch 10 races live than not watch at all. I understand that people are angry, I'm none too happy myself but the BBC have decided that stupid reality talent shows and BBC 4 is more important than the 10m viewers that regularly enjoy F1, we'll just have to deal with it! Will this move harm F1; most definitely in the short run but it'll recover, but if millions do tune out from the BBC broadcasts, maybe the BBC will re-evaluate and the sport will move to Sky wholesale!
