I'm 57 I've only been watching F1 since Jackie Stewart gained his fame so what do I know?

Considering none of those drivers Frafpdd listed were driving in those days i would guess you would know roughly the same as most people on this forum in regards to the discussion, or do your days watching Jackie Stewart somehow relate to this discussion?

Actually I think it does. I've seen many promising F1 pilots start off touted as sure things only to have short unimpressive careers,. That's all! :whip:

Doesn't make you more qualified to comment which was my point, you made a dumb argument about age apparently making your words more relevant on a discussion regarding which drivers are "currently" better than Webber.

Koby could end up never moving out of midfield or he could end up being a multiple WDC none of your previous experience can predict that and none of your previous experience can directly relate to his situation, so again providing you have actually watched every grand prix these drivers have been in you have the same knowledge base most people on this forum have concerning this discussion.

If however a discussion comes up about the 1971 WDC i will be sure to refer to you for your great knowledge.

I have to agree, being older doesn't exactly mean you are more qualified to speak on a subject. Not saying you DON'T know what you are talking about its just a logical fallacy to assume age = smarter.

+1. We have more than one member now who keeps flaunting his 'experience' in being a couch potato.

Even if someone's been watching F1 since it started out or just 2 years ago, anything and everything are merely opinions. Like it or not, nothing more. For example, I'm a fan since 1998 but one of the Vettel fans :hehe: are in position to prove me wrong anyday.

If you don't like it why stick around? Seriously! If I am not happy using a particular forum I leave. No point sticking around is there?

I take it you are happy with nothing but old fogeys cluttering up the forum until each one is picked off by the blessed release of death and there ends up being no one left to comment. That last guy is going to become extremely lonely on here.

If anything is pathetic, it is your narrow minded opinion that for someone to be able to comment on F1 they have to have been watching since at least 1950.

No doubt you will call this BLAH BLAH BLAH but it is a truth whether you like it or not.

Incidently, what has this got to do with Mclaren making wrong decisions when it comes to strategies?! I'm struggling to work this out. Surely this argument should be held here.

I'm starting to think more and more that Alcatraz is your alter ego. :D

Btw, the forum doesn't state you need a post count of more than >5000 to register. In that case you wouldn't be here either.Think about that oh Wise Guru.

The forum is not geared towards anyone. Age is not a prerequisite for wisdom or a free pass to having your views and opinions accepted over others. Experience is excellent for this forum and we welcome knowledge from F1 fans who have watched racing for many years. However; this does not make their opinions any more valuable than anyone elses opininions. F1 is constantly changing as its fan base and all opinions and views if expressed respectfully are welcome on this forum.

I think mclaren are doing something wrong, as in the practive session yesterday in Germany, Alonso has the faster time than redbull and mclaren, and this is how it stands:

F Alonso
M Webber
S Vettel
F Massa
L Hamilton
J Button

So it looks like the MClarens are having a problem with something, dont think its something with the car because as seen in Silverstone they are very quick. But something with the stratergy i think.

As in the Silverstone race the Fferarris were quicker than the both MClarens in qualifiing. And Redbull just infront. And aswell i think Fferrari are getting quicker as Alonso is now going for Pole in the Germany GP.
