Well I hadnt expected that! But I had noticed he's at more GP's of late. I read it in an article in autosport about 'where next for Lewis?' Lots of intersting things in the article but this was a suprise. Apparantly there are rumours of a battle for control in the boardroom. Dennis was very contolloing and the Hamiltons, Alonso, Newey and Kimi resented this. Whitmarh is more consensual but the results aren't coming. He's battling to keep the brill driver pairing together but lewis is not happy and the relationship is strained. Sooooo could Dennis be coming back? Is a fight ahead? And what will that do for Mclaren when things arent too rosy anyway? What you reckon?

Ron Dennis has been knocking about at races for a while now but isn't always visible it seems so I wouldn't read too much into it yet.

I'd be surprised if Hamilton wasn't happy at Ron Dennis knocking about. I thought he would be over-joyed at the the presence of his Uncle Ron. Let's face it, Hamilton wouldn't have gotten where he is so quickly without his Uncle Ron paying a few of the more hefty bills. If anyone would be worried, it will be Button. It was Whitmarsh that was instrumental in getting Button. Should Ron Dennis return as the team boss I can see Button being dropped for a weaker or less experienced driver who is just happy to be there. Ever since the days of Prost and Senna there has always been a complete neep (with the exception of Berger) in one of the McLarens.

It was in autosport but only broached as a rumour. I dont know how lewis feels about Dennis now-he along with all those others I mentioned was frustrated with Dennis' controlling manner. Ive heard about this aspect of Dennis from other sources. The article suggested that the Leiws Whitmarsh relationship was strained.

No neeps there.

Ok add Alonso to the list with Berger but more often than not there has been a much weaker driver in the other car.

He was the best driver! things just went wrong. Tyres and stuff. 'Tennis' shoulder. How the 06 car suited Kimi's style. things like that.

I always thought he just talked a good game but wasn't as great as he thought he was.

But I'll add Alonso and Montoya as the only exceptions! Happy now? Life has taught me not to argue with women.

People give Martin Whitmarsh more stick than he deserves. Ron Dennis had more than his fair share of disappointing seasons with McLaren. Look at the state of 2002, 2004, 2006 and early 2009 before hurling tomatoes at Whitmarsh.

Oh I wasn't accusing you personally of hurling. I just think he receives a large amount of undeserved criticism generally. I had also noted Dennis' more regular appearances at races. Hmmmmm....

He seems a personable guy, but its hard to know what folk are really like from a few TV interviews. I have heard him recently snap at an interviewer. For asking a really obvious question ..at a bad time. Intrigue, intrigue
