Did anyone catch it?
Better than Top Gear USA but that's not saying much. The whole show just felt a bit disconnected and the jokes felt scripted, guyish and read from a teleprompter. There are guys that could not only carry a show like this, but give it the informal and improvised feel that it needs. You need to feel like you're involved with them and sadly both TG USA and The Car Show fail in this regard. When I watch Clarkson, Hammond and James May I feel like I'm in with the joke, like hanging out with friends, while the other shows feels like a conference call with co-workers.
David Letterman, Jay Leno, Jerry Seinfeld... all legit car guys, all would be able to take a show like this over the top and give it an injection of what it lacks, loose improvised banter with real car guys nor reading from a script.
