It's the Lewis Hamilton support thread, not let's discuss why I hate (insert whatever political crap here) so please let's get back on topic. You're a puzzling character fraf as you sometimes make these bombastic and generalized statements as if there isn't anything the world can teach you because you've got it all figured out by now... and then wonder why people take them out of context. You go blaming the US for all of it's nationalistic and indoctrinating faults and yet two posts up you're going off at the mouth as how Britain owes nothing to no one.

So please, let's get back on topic and enjoy the liberties you've got in your current country, where you can bad mouth anything and everything you wish.

No i am not puzzling, people are too quick to whip out the thesaurus and change whatever words they want to hear in order to have it large with someone, like youve just done, what did i blame the us for? I didnt blame the US for anything, nothing to blame them for.

Moreover, i didnt say Britain owes nothing to no one, i said something ill recheck along the lines of Britain doesnt need to show off to anyone like theyre doing, it reeks of insecurity. We are the nation with the least reason to feel insecure about ourselves is a sound statement. The stuff we've achieved in all possible aspects and subjects from Culture to Sport through History is matched i feel by nobody. Why do we still feel the need to show off?

Ah yes i said Britain has nothing to prove to anyone, nothing owed to anyone? Youd be a good tabloid Journo with spin like that WB :D

In Thailand, you gotta stand up for around 3-5minutes in the theatre before a movie starts, when the Kings national anthem is playing. :P

But anyway...Lewis 'has too many commitments'

"When I re-sign the contract with McLaren they are going to be shocked at how many days they are not going to be able to make me do," Hamilton told Sporting Life. "I will be doing a lot less work. I definitely won't be doing the whole period of time before the Silverstone grand prix, that's for sure. I will have at least five days to prepare in the future. I have just come from the last race and I have had a day or two off.

"I am certain if you look down the paddock there won't be many other drivers that have done what I have been doing over the last two weeks. But what's important is that the sponsors are happy."

After finishing fourth in the British Grand Prix, Hamilton said he had told the team that he needed a few days off in order to prepare fully for the Nurburging in two weeks' time.

"I was supposed to be working today and tomorrow, but I said 'no way' because I've been in England for the last week or so and it has been quite busy here," Hamilton said. "I was also supposed to be flying in and out of India for a day on Wednesday, fortunately, for some reason, it has got cancelled. So that's good. I get to be in one place for a period of time and I can do some training (and) get my mind clear for the next race."

Please do accept my apology since I didn't cut and paste your exact words, it negates all validity to what I said and instantly absolves your contradictions and double standards in your own posts. In the end maybe it's a good thing you didn't go into the royal air force, as you would have had to stand in attention while they played the national anthem... a lot.

By the way, nope, no thesaurus used, some Americans do know their way around the English language. Anyway I can think of a lot worse things than blind patriotism in the good ol' US of A.

Theres no need to be a patronising jerk ( some Englishman know their way around American language) just because what you said as incorrect either.

Also im joining the Army, i will have to stand attention to the national anthem, and i will WANT to. I do not want to be told to, whether i had to do it or not, and feel compelled to by a tanoy speaker and those around me who were equally wondering whether to do it or not, to stand for a national anthem at a Grand Prix race.

One of the better interviews he has given lately :hehe: nice to see a smile on his face and from him to joke (the right way)
Great race for Lewis...even though he didnt win...but onwards and upwards :)

The national anthem was nothing to do with harry, they do it every year, for your info Fraff I do remain seated if im in a stand. Why stand if the anthem upsets you? It doesnt upset me, just cant be bothered to stand up and drop all the stuff on my lap.
The red arrows are for the crowds entertainment not for a display of force . They perform at large public outdoor gatherings. And they are pretty cool!! One of them is a woman :D

"For your info Fraf", i really really cannot understand how hard it is to put comments to usernames theyre all seperate, i havent questioned anything about anyone in this thread, not least doubting your body position as a song played.

The anthem doesnt upset me either, i didnt even imply that, i just thought it was cringey to be told to stand up half-heartedly, some people even started singing along, just cringey.

Used to want to be in the RAF as a Pilot, hence Future RAF Pilot F.R.A.F, havent for a few years now, didnt know theyd finally got a woman onboard.
And we couldnt even see them because they decided to fly over Becketts for the show. Nice noise though......

You know what FRAFFPDD, you completely confuse me. Either you dont express yourself very well or you are deliberately contrary.
You think the anthem is cringey...then ignore it or stay out of the grandstand until its over. If people want to sing its up to them.

No you cant see the red arrows from beckets grandstand unless you are at the very top because they are not allowed to fly over the track for safety reasons and beckets faces the track, it was not just a random decision of theirs. You have to walk down the grandstand steps and turn around and then you can see them.
Now shall we get back to discussing lewis since this is a lewis thread.
I'll start us off. lewis is the best driver on the grid :D:D:yes:

I said i thought it was cringey, like i might say i think the weather too hot, or kebabs are overrated.... or lewis hamilton is the best driver on the grid.

You said, and i got a marvellous sense of snide through it; " Well dont stand for it then"

Me touching your overly sensitive patriotic nerve is not my fault, trying to pin it on me here is something id expect from any forumner but a moderator. Its not fair to criticise me based on past events when you RC, YOU took the initial offense to something you really shouldnt have, and proceeded to tell me what i should of done....in quite a forceful manner of words might i add.

Now what of what i said above is so wrong? Honestly?

Fed up like s*it of toning down down down down down what im saying and still having issues arise from it, i could say " Why cant be all be friends" and someone would say; " Oh f** off FRAF you Idealist c***"

Dont know if i should have anything more to do with this forum with such a bunch of keyboard warrior babies.

Absolutely right Myown!! And for the record, actually im not particularly partriotic (I thought that was clear when i said I didnt stand for the anthem  ), especialy in terms of who i support in F1. I support the driver who excites me, who is prepared to race, who will satnd up for what he believes, who is the fastest. I SUPPORT LEWIS HAMILTON. Well there was a suprise for you!!. Actuakly he happens to be british but thats not why I support him. My last favourite driver(as the old timers here will remember) was Colunbian- Juan Pablo Montoya-for much the same reasons as I now support Lewis.....but actually, lewis is faster :D:wink:
