Wasn't sure about posting this, most of all cause I don't want to upset some friends ..... but ..... I'd really love someone to give a rational explanation. Watch the video, its of the Felipe/Lewis incident at the end of the race. The bit that concerns me is from 20-26 seconds - watch Lewis's hands......

Haha! When watching the replay, I knew someone would jump on this....maybe he's trying to stabilize the car under braking? He did brake late after all and you'd notice he changed direction right after touching Massa...the contact did affect his car and wasn't in control anymore. If he didn't do that he'd probably spin off!

Correcting a rear-end slide? Lining up for the right-hander? Swatting an errant wasp in the cockpit?

I think Hammer's explanation is probably the answer.

He's actually doing with his hands the same thing Massa does with his hands a split second before. I think they're both simply trying to save their car from further tailhappiness in getting through that turn... you turn the wheel in the direction of your tail slide.

The first two are on the track at Becketts.

Taking a long hard look at that second pic, Becketts will now be formally called cooch.

And after negotiating cooch the next stop is the chapel...

Good eye spanks! I see what he is doing

haha Madre mia! Anyone who thinks he was turning into Massa does not know how to drive! First of all in normal speed it would look like he is fighting the wheel. Look at Massa's onboard, he goes left right left right in quick succession. In slow motion you get a different take on things and it is misleading.

Getting real sick and tired of Formula 1 arm chair fans!

Here are some silly Silverstone pictures. I'll post sensible ones when the sensible people who took them give them to me.

What a pair of hotties! All I'm thinking is how good you'd look in a SF T-shirt (possibly wet)

Oh believe me, if you camp at Silverstone, the T shirt will get wet!!

He was giving him a nudge or he went into the corner too fast

I don't think there's any doubt what happened there, it's clear as day. Hamilton turned the wheel to push Massa off the track.

Nobody can complain that the stewards are biased against Hamilton in that case, getting off scot free for that.

Lewis was taming the slide in my opinion, i dont think you can blame him. Commentators are always saying how tire wear causes the car to gain some oversteer and this is an example.

I forgot who it was but they were saying that the stewards should punish bad/reckless driving, not mistakes and i think this, similar to Hamilton on Webber in Canada, is a simple mistake that lead to the crash. You could quite easily imagine the same thing happening if Massa wasnt there and Lewis was just going around any other corner.
