Before I state my theory I just want it known that I'm not a nut and this is meant just to be food for thought. I will go ahead and say that I could be completely 100% wrong.

Watching todays race got me thinking about the relative pace between the two Red Bull's up until this part of the season. Excluding Catalyuna (where Vettel had a problem with his kers) Vettel has always had a gap of about 0.500/s or more between him and the rest of the field including Webber. Over the last few weeks we've learned that this gap comes down to the use of extreme engine mapping (during qualy) and the use of the blown diffusers. I thought it was amazing to see how much the gap between Vettel and Webber closed when the FIA started changing the rules. So my question is, do you think it's possible that the team would engineer a gap in between Vettel and Webber using the unregulated engine mapping? If you think about it they knew that they had enough gap between them and the rest of the field to do something like that. You can see the logic in that they would be able to put Vettel way out front and keep Webber still on podium pace but not competing with Vettel. That way he takes spots away from the other teams and keeps himself between Vettel and the rest of the field. So now we see all these things taken away and all of the sudden they are less then a .100/s apart. Obviously there are a lot more components that go into this discussion then I have time to write about but I was just wanting to get other's opinions.

Vettel was claiming today he had some Kers issues I think so that perhaps knocks your conspiracy theory a bit there. Although I think this whole rule change incident is some sort of conspiracy to me as it seems bizarre to change a rather major rule in the middle of the season.

I have a theory that MrE had a finger or 9 in the rule changes. With so many (incorectly) claiming this season is boring he probably felt that something had to be done to spice things up.

It seems that the EBD was red Bull's secret weapon, but it seems strange that all the teams are going back to the Valencia spec for the remainder of the season.

There's no conspiracy; Vettel is clear #1 and now Mark knows that for sure... As for Mark getting inferior parts; I don't think so; I simply think that Mark struggled more with the extreme overrun and tyres much more than Vettel + Mark always seems to be a magnet for bad luck; that can be traced throughout his career in F1!

Luck evens out eventually, but I remember last year him driving away from an incidents that cost other drivers their races. But no conspiracy theory, and even our old friend JackMaster would agree with that. :hehe:

This sounds like everything the tv and the news say to us.... :bs:

On the subject, different engine maps between drivers would mean a more efficient way to apply team orders so I don't thing why that couldn't happen! I am not saying it was happening, but if it would, It makes sense! :lurker:
