Getting rid of Mosley is only a very short term solution. The fact is the system is open to so many abuses it won't take long for another Mosley or Balestre to crop up. The system needs overhauled: everybody should get equal voting rights on the WMSC, the president should be more accountable, the rules should be less open to interpretation, there must be more consistency in rulings, and vendettas and grudges should not be allowed to interfere with the running the sport.

Woop there it is ! The best insight and opinion posted to date imo, excellent post McLaren Fan.

Fully agree.

But let's not forget that the 1st Mclaren hearing had the same results as yesterday's. And according to the official F1A statement, there was not that much information in the hands of Renault (nothing in the range of 700+ pages) and there was no proof that such information was used to affect the championship. What I truly find inconsistent is that I thought just 'having' this information is punishable, apparently not...

Who knows, maybe the case gets reopened after new evidence 'comes up' after Alonso joins Renault.... Ron: "Who's your daddy now? Alonso boy"

i have always given the FIA the benefit of the doubt because I cannot see what they have to gain by supporting Ferrari. In this matter they said they have no evidence of Renault benefiting from the Mclaren data and this is the original position they took with Mclaren during spygate before the alonso/de la rosa/coughlan emails surfaced. So what is the beef?!

Getting rid of Mosley could work out well providing there was somebody good enough to be his replacement, someone like Sir Jackie or Ross Brawn or whoever, because that would be a good start to it all.

If there's one man who is just as bad - if not worse than Mad Max, it has to be Richard Scudamore, the president of the English Premier League, who allowed West Ham to get away with signing illegal players without taking points away "because it was nearly the end of the season and it would be hard on West Ham's fans." I'm sorry but that is not an excuse, and I think everybody knows the consequences of what happened from that... :(

Now I am not a max moseley fan but the recent hate against him is not justified. Mclaren were found guilty but not punished when spygate round 1 was over. Round 2 began when the emails surfaced and that is what resulted in the Mclaren penalty. Renault is in round 1 of spygate 2 so no one can say they are getting preferential treatment.

My recent hate against for him actually not spygate related, it's for calling Sir Jackie a "halfwit" which is a totally cheap, cowardly shot and also for his ridiculous stupid ideas, especially the 10 year engine freeze.

that's ok then! Mad Max is a brianless waste of space but in his handling of spygate's 1 and 2 he has been OK!

Good luck to the Sunday Times and they have a bit more evidence after todays decision.

I'm surprised they are suing them - I read the column as an opinion on the state of affairs - or perhaps we aren't allowed to have opinions any more?

How has his handling of spygate been ok?

Spot on, how he can say that about a great world champion who did so much to improve the safety aspects of F1 and get the tracks improved, I'll never know. It just confirmed how out of touch and power mad he has become.

I don't like mad max but i think that people complaining about the verdicts of the spygate 1 and 2 are 100% wrong. Mclaren were found with Ferrari data and proved to have used it on their car thanks to those emails. Renault have Mclaren data but it cannot be proved that they got an advantage from it therefore no penalty. So I'll ask again. What's the beef!?
