Latest to grab a piece of Lewis bashing is Massa. Who? Oh its the other guy in the Ferrari. He says lewis should calm down and stop causing accidents. Sorry who is this agen??? Just drive the car Felipe, your team mate is getting away from you.

A flaw?? I dont think he has a flaw.

They all have flaws.

This thread is ridiculous, to be honest. People are treating criticism as hate, then jumping to the extreme and defending the guy no matter what. Suggesting that people who dislike Hamilton do so because they are racist is just petty; I dislike someone because of personal qualities, not the colour of their skin, their gender, religious views, sexuality etc. and I'm sure the other members of this forum are the same. At the same time, I appreciate that there are people who criticise Hamilton for no good reason, but these are in a minority. I will also add that many unfairly criticise Vettel, some of those are the ones who are here defending Hamilton against everything, whether right or wrong. Again, a minority, but still the case.

In the end, we're entitled to our opinions of a driver's skill and personality. Just as I think Alonso is a great driver with a personality I cannot like, the same is true for Hamilton. I see no problem with this, because at the end of the day it's the on-track action that will go down in the history books. If he wants to ignore criticism of the way he acts on track, his mentality when it comes to championship battles etc. then it is his choice. It will either work out really well for him, or he will retire with only a single championship to his name (though he will still go down as one of the greats - you don't even need one championship for that). Either way, he'll still provide some on-track excitement.

Now, I think we should all sit and have a cup of tea.

Er, except I can only find a coffee image (which might be good since I'm still recovering from a night where I suspect I consumed far more Old Rosie than I should have and I'm not even sure my post is anything more than an incoherent ramble). :coffee:

Good interview:

That's the correct way to approach talking to the press; if he acted like that more; I wouldn't have an issue with him!

Sometimes Lewis gives very good interviews, other times he's probably frustrated and gets out of control. Then the media does some playing and emphasize on the "flashy" stuff to publish.

Its obvious he's no Button or whomever.... So yes, he could be a bit more 'respectful', but its ok to have all kinds of personalities in F1. I dont think he's said or done anything considerably over the top, its been mostly some few silly gaffes.

As for him not giving a toss about what other drivers/personalities say its pretty much his opinion. He could either listen to advice/opinions or not, its his life to make it out, but its also his responsibility as sportsman to deliver the best of him even if that means learning from others. If i were him i'd just focus on the important issues and learn from own mistakes. Right now, he's only showing immaturity.

Nobody is "less" from taking some good advice or for learning from someone else... or ditching poor advice gracefully ;)

Maybe his 'beard' was evil. It's not there now. :D

I've already begun referring to him as Lewis 2.0, and yes it's no coincidence that he hasn't won a WDC since the beard. :hehe:

He really shut up those critics after Silverstone, as much as the media criticizes, he's the only real hope they have in F1. Sort of like a Dwain Chambers... looked down upon, but he is the one that always pulls through when things get really tough.

Like Lewis, I couldn't give much of a toss.

I just like watching Lewis continue pounding his teammate into the ground in majority of races per season, and hope for 1 day again....for McLaren to provide him a car to win another WDC. It's criminal a talent like him only has 1 to his name to date. Much like how its criminal that a sad story like Kimi only has 1 as well and now playing giant bumper cars in some lowly series most have never heard of.

I think McLaren will struggle as long as they try and give equal equipment to two top drivers. I know this is their philosophy but what wins drivers world championships is having an outright number one and an outright number two. Everytime teams try to have both drivers gunning for the WDC they do risk losing it to a team that only has to concentrate on one driver. Some win it (RBR last year, Brawn the year before) and some don't (Macca 2007). But as long as you've got 2 world champions in the one team then who do you really set the car up for before the other guy says, "hey, I'm just as important as the other guy, show me some attention." I think Jenson is going to stay at McLaren for at least 2 more years and unless McLaren do some sort of restructing in the design department I see them producing a winning car but perhaps not a WDC winning car. Therefore, what I'm trying to say is I don't see Lewis winning a WDC for at least another 3 years. But hey, at least he's got one so far. I watched the 2010 season review the other day and forgot how big a lead Mark had going into Korea. It was head banging against the wall type of stuff to watch for a fan of his. :banghead::banghead::banghead:
