Am i right in thinking theres never been a season with only world champions winning all the races?

If so, could this year be the first to see only world champions winning all the races, Vettel winning most, the Mclarens taking odd wins here and there, and maybe some for Alonso?

Webber's gotta win a grand prix at some point in that car.

Hmmmmm.Not looking good.

1963 Graham Hill, jim Clark and John Surtees.Although at the time Surtees wasn't world champion.
Amazing to think how few a gp there were in the early years that it hasn't ever been done. :hehe:

Yeah i was gonna say they have to be a champion at time of event.

Like to see it done this year, but the record books say it wont, hopefully its like, Kobayashi and not Webber.

On "Normal" grand prix's this year;

Petrovs results: 3rd 9th 8th 5th

Heidfelds results: 3rd 7th 8th 8th 10th

Kobayashis results: 7th 10th 10th 10th 5th 7th

Now considering Kamui and Sauber are FAR AND AWAY the best team for getting results with strategy calls, sauber in particular are immense at this, it is more then possible that we may see Kamui into a podium finish this year, and at a very, very large push, get a win if theres a rain on and off type of race......

The podium is a likely possibility for me, he was running second for a long time in the canadian grand prix.

It could be the end for MW if he carrys on being destroyed like he is.

I think the end is nigh for Webber's F1 career anyway. I'm guessing next year will be his final year at Red Bull then it will be one of the Torro Rosso drivers or Ricciardo partnering vettel.

Horner seems happy with MW and favors his current pairing versus bringing in LH while hinting that 2 equally fast drivers in the same team are rarely the best option. So, thereby pretty much saying that MW is doing a great job as a team/support driver.

"On paper a Vettel-Hamilton line-up would be hugely attractive," Horner told reporters at the Red Bull factory. "But you have to look at the reality, at how these things work, and history dictates that two world-class drivers in the same team has not always been the best pairing. You only have to think of Senna-Prost, Piquet-Mansell, or even Alonso and Hamilton.

"We are hugely happy to have Sebastian committed to the team long term, and with Mark [Webber], we're very pleased with the job he is doing. Our focus at present is on those two drivers rather than looking to change anything."

Horner said that he didn't feel Vettel and Hamilton could work together as successfully as Vettel and Webber do at present.

"At the end of the day it's about winning. It's not solely down to Red Bull to provide the entertainment. We do enough of that. If you look at any great team, be it with a football team, hockey team, across the disciplines, it's about the unit working as such, and not about individuals. What we've managed to achieve here, and what's hugely important, is that no individual is bigger than the team.

"I think it would be difficult to envisage a driver of Sebastian's calibre and that of Lewis under the same roof. Lewis is a wonderful driver, and you can understand why he might want to drive a Red Bull. It's obvious. But would it be the best thing for us? We have severe reservations it would be."

Horner also said he feels he has the better driver of the two at present with Vettel boasting a record of 16 wins and 23 poles from his 70 grands prix, compared to Hamilton's 15 wins and 18 poles from 79 races.

"In a shorter career he has already won more races than Lewis, had more pole positions and won the same amount of championships. We are absolutely delighted to have Sebastian. There is no driver in the paddock I would rather have on a long-term contract than Sebastian Vettel."

Those comments from Horner would surely peeve Hamilton off - wouldn't it? :hehe:

So much for the Red Bull Racing philosophy...

I believe Hamilton called Red Bull, "just a drinks company" in the first place.

You mean Simon Fuller told him to say it.

I have never been a fan of Hamilton, he has always come accross as a jumped up cocky little brat, but I have to admit that his foot in mouth affliction seems to have gotten worse since Simon Fuller has been writing his scripts. But comments like this are forgotten as they are insignificant and no one really cares - it is just a modern day politically correct version of trying to out-syke the opposition.

Not a patch on Picquet telling Mansell his wife was ugly or Piquet grabbing Mansell's gentlemans area to make sure he was carrying low hanging fruit after a particularly ballsy overtake. This was the golden age of goading the opposition! :D
