Guys this is pretty much the same reaction people had when we switched to the V8

Yes but by that way of thinking, we shouldnt complain when F1 goes to V4 Engines, and then to 1.2 litre engines, and then to mobility scooter electric engines.

The idiots at the FIA dont give a s*** what the fans think about things, from circuits we want to see to rules and regulations but a few hippies and health and safety retards moan about saving the planet and safety and they downsize the engines ten fold!

F1 should always be evolving, the beauty of the early 2000's was that there wasnt super intricate front wings and DRS, there were powerful powerful engines and the best cars were the most well rounded rather then single things they had. Racing looked pretty good despite Schumacher domination too.

Now they have to make disposable tyres, flappy wings and all that just to make a spectacle, even though theyd slowed the cars down.

I heard a good comment and I forget where it was but this was the gist: It takes more fuel in the airplane that fly's and F1 team on 1 trip then all the fuel in the F1 cars in an entire season combined.

I remember the quote your on about, I think it was a single flight for concorde from London to New York

Unfortunately that is the future. If they were to increase size of engines and horsepower the cars would become more dangerous, and i personally dont want to see drivers being killed. If they FiA believe that the engine manufacturers can bring out similar power of the current V8s from smaller V6 tubros then i dont see what is wrong with that. I wasnt around during the time period, but im sure someone else may be able to confirm that V6 turbos which were previously used did not sound too bad.

Are we not going to end up like the good old turbo days where all the engine does is run the alternator, while the turbo is connected to the gearbox?

would it not be better to limit the speed of the turbo as well?

Isn't that what's effectively being done by limiting the HP?

...Thank god Enzo already was dead, else it would have killed him.

You'll never see Formula 1 return to that kind of inventiveness again, until the FIA overcome their phobia of a return to a free and unfettered evolution of the sport...

Great post - completely agree, just wish I could convey the point as well!
