If Vettel "All of a sudden" has a couple of retirements in a row I will be very pissed off.

These mid season tweaks trying to clip Adrian Newey's wings are enough.

You realise though it may not be their silver bullet to the other teams, Newey has designed by definition an illegal car. Thats why these changes are being brought it, you should be over the moon (if it ends up hurting them at all) theyve only just acted on it for silverstone.

if Vettel has a couple of retirements you shouldnt care, hes over three wins infront of the next man, and the moment he does finish a race, itll be first again.

And with a bit of luck, it's not going to be the same driver to take those two wins and it might not even be SV's closest rival at that, so the damage may be rather limited.

Yep lol, realistically, it will have to be the same driver winning 2 or 3 times and then maintain that challenge when Vettel comes back. Either way, it's going to be a 2 horse race at the most.

I have a gut feeling that the changes are unfortunatly not going to slow the Redbulls down....but i guess we shall have to wait and see

Oh, they'll slow RB down, believe you me. BUT they'll also slow down the other teams, so the change may be a small one. Question is, which team will cope best with the loss of downforce after the EBD is banned from Silverstone on? McLaren seem to be a bit pessimistic in that regard - understandable since they already lack downforce.
RB could lose the most, but they also may have the car with the most outright downforce without the EBD, so they could still be ahead.
Ferrari could be the dark horse here and gain the most - they seem ok with downforce and don't get too much of it from their EBD, so they could close the downforce gap to RB.

Not that interesting a race, but a worthy win for Vettel.

It was a pity that Massa couldn't take the fight to Hamilton, the Ferrari was clearly the better car today. A reasonable race, particularly the start, but Massa should have managed fourth.

I guess its all if's and but's at the moment...lets bring on Silverstone so we can see if/who it effects the most :)

What a juxtaposition of races... I think we went from the best in Canada to the worst in Valencia. Yeah, yeah, congrats to Red Bull yada yada, good job to Ferrari for making steady progress and McLaren, when does Lewis' contract expire again? :hehe:

The worst was actually seeing the Subers struggle like crazy, I knew it wasn't a good circuit for them but the only bright spot has been seen Kobayashi in the points and we didn't even get that in Valencia.

30 seconds of exicement in the first lap and then... :bored:

Exactly why i was glad i watch the highlights instead of the race (they easily fit everything within the 45 minutes) meh...it was a bore

I was so excited to watch the race in Valencia for the first time!

It's an absolutely beautiful race track, the section beside the beach is just fantastic. On that note alone, I want it to stay.

However, half-way through the race I fell asleep, and woke up to very briefly see Vettel say the word "fantastic" in the top three press conference. So I'm trying to work out through all the race reports what actually happened, and why Webber was third, because when I was awake and alive, he was 2nd.

From what I've read, he made a mistake and dropped 2nd to third. In my opinion that's just not good enough, but oh well, Webber's gearbox might have been doomed to failure so it was a good thing in the end. Really, if the Red Bull car were dominant, then Webber would be a better supporting team-mate and take 2nd to extend Vettel's buffer - like Barichello would do. I really want to see more Red Bull 1-2s.

I also think we still need to see some circuits like Valencia in formula one that reward drivers for their qualifying performances. Sure, Monaco and Valencia - that's enough of them I guess. Who knows, maybe my opinion will change next time the race is held and I'm complaining that Vettel couldn't overtake Hamilton....

Valencia was by far the most dull race of the season... I fell asleep for about 30 minutes just after Lewis' first pitstop, this is the first time I have watched the European GP at Valencia, there's a general lack of overtaking even with KERS and DRS, it's a nice location but it doesn't deliver good racing. Another Vettel lights to flag victory, extends his lead to 77 points.

I didn't mind the race at all. Thought Nando passing Webber was a very cool move. Pity Felipe suffered another poor pitstop which might have cost him one place.

Even if the overrun ban does effect RB the FiA will have acted too late. Seb and Red Bull have pretty much got the titles wrapped up. The only way they could loose would be to throw it away from here.

But, I still think it will be an exciting rest-of-the-season watching the real racing between Ferrari (who seem to have finally come good with the F150) and McLaren. That should make for an excellent rest of the season to see who can come out on top between those two.

If the race for number 1 is out of reach, perhaps we can have a decent race for number 2.
