RedBull NEED Lewis Hamilton soon. Vettel is just not cool enough. Lets face it, RedBull have achieved their sporting goals, which any half decent driver can do in a Newey Rocket ship. Now it is time to not only win more Championships but to rake in the dollars and hype and there is only one man on the grid that fit that bill.

You crack me up - unbelievable!

So was Red Bull eyeing Hamilton, or is he eyeing them? One party finished last season with both championships and seem a shoe in to repeat....the other has major PR problems at present, has a reputation as a hot head, puts his team down in the press whenever the mood strikes him and is plummeting backwards in points at present while his team mate surges forward in a competitive car. He also called them just a drinks company didnt he?

Hmmm...not sure I would size up the news I read of Hamilton going to Red Bulls trailer as meaning they are chasing him... I think Red Bull is content at present.

Totally agree on this in the current state of F1 but I'd say watch the return of Lewis' competitivesness come midway in the season, maybe earlier. If that happens then I'd say Bernie will start swinging his opinions around with the silly season and we'll see what goes from there. I don't think he wants Seb to destory the competition, even though he likes him so maybe he will test him with a few psychological games to keep the championship alive and interesting. I've noticed he's already come to Hammo's defence as a racing driver. Hopefully Jenson continues the upper hand at McLaren though from my personal opinion as I'm becoming a major fan of his attitude and outlook at the moment. He's in a good zone and hopefully that just keeps getting better.

But on the whole Hammo to Red Bull, I don't see it happening. Red Bull don't need him. He would cost a fortune and Adrian Newey with fast consistent drivers is fast enough to win the WDC and WCC. Plus, whats the point of the whole Red Bull driver program if they bring in someone from the McLaren driver's program? Webber to stay there next year unless Renault or Ferrari come knocking on his door and then Ricciardo to partner Seb in 2013 after a Toro Rosso season.

Mark Webber is the key really, if he retires, gets booted out or goes elsewhere then we will see a lot of driver movement. if Webber goes another season at Red Bull i would expect nothing to change amongst all the top teams. Newey has said he would like to keep Mark, not sure about Horner, haven't heard much from him.

The official line is almost always " we're happy with our lineup" , thats not to say they really arent happy with webber though.

On this years performance and the fact that Red Bull really do look here to stay as a top team (more money to splash then ferrari for gods sake) not to mention the fact that Webber is only getting older, id say they were actively looking for another driver.

But ill be damned if they move Buemi Or Alguersari into that second seat, you might have a driver program but it doesnt mean you have to constantly employ the next in line. Kobayashi is the one driver i really want to see moved, not cause sauber are crap, but hes really good. Just imagine Kobayashi in Red Bull overalls. I think we'd all be fans.

I would agree that from a Marketing point of view, Vettel is not exactly a dream ticket. He's too fluffy. You don't have to be nice, you just need column inches and controversy.

Red Bull are purely a marketing experiment, now the car is sorted they should get a cooler driver. Mark is capable of winning, he's just getting bashed over the head politically all the time and it's taking a bit of steam out of his sails. Button/Webber would be good for Red Bull. :)

Mark is old and nobody is interested in him anyway. Not to mention his partner, "Anne" is not a hot celebrity.

RedBull is about youth and energy.

here is a SWOT analysis of RedBull on the following link:

"Appeal to specialized groups, such as gamers, extreme sports enthusiasts, and the hip-hop crowd."

Vettel has zero appeal to da kids. Hamilton on the other hand just ask you sisters, daughters, mothers if they know him.

I wonder how popular Vettel is in Germany?

Im pretty sure they like him a lot over there from what i hear,

but then ive also heard nobody beats schumacher by a country-mile, and rosberg has quite a bit too.

Do you realise that Hamilton is most qualified driver that will ever sign to RedBull? 8-)

I don't think they want him or would have him to be honest. How many times...this season alone...has hamilton caused negative PR? Red Bull isn't a racing company...they are racing for PR reasons. Their money doesn't come from racing, it comes from public opinion. The team made me lie. The stewards are racists. etc etc. If you are McLaren who has been around forever and your entire business plan is based on winning....you can take a driver who delivers results but digs PR holes with his mouth. I'm just not sure Red Bull's business model would work with that way of thinking.

Correct me if im wrong but havent at least one member of Red Bull, and im sure its Christian Horner, publicly state theyd enjoy/love/happily take etc. to have Hamilton. Im sure theres an article on PF1 saying it.

Either way the fact Webber swears like a c*nting sailor doesnt do much to enforce your claim that they race for PR reasons, you know i really dont get why everything you say has to be a dig at Hamilton, youd probably enjoy it if you didnt make every post a "subtle" dig.
