I'm going to stick up for Fred here, I assume he writes it as Vettel because in German the letter V is (sometimes) pronounced like an F in English. So I'm not sure if Vettel is the correct pronunciation for Vettel's family. He may have anglicized his pronunciation when he speaks it.

Sorry but Vettel's family name is pronounced with a V even by ze germans :wink:

Theres no need to apologise, Strategy did not win Mclaren the race, luck and Buttons skill did. Your point still stands should you wish to defend it.

I think my response sounded harsher than it ment to to be honest.I understand what your saying don't get me wrong ,but I think they've got it right a lot more than they've got it wrong this season.It isn't the best car after all :hehe:

Dont worry about it...like i said we all have our own opinions on the matter...and i think the last part of you quote might change very soon hopefully they will have the best car soon :D

I am a big fan of F1 espeacially of Mclaren but recently it seems to me that when it comes down the stratgey that they are tending to make many mistakes...if its not happening in Qualifying and causing one of there drivers to not get a good grid position then it seems to be happening within the races...a good example is like today in qualifying (Canada) they decide to go on a completly different option to the rest of the field (okay i get that at the time when they we're making the decisions that there was like a 60% chance of having a wet race tomorrow) but dont you think that its best to go with what the majority of the other teams are doing...weather reports can change very quickly and i think they made a mistake today especially since at a track like canada it seems to me you need to have the fastest car and the best grid position possible

Anyway let me know what you all think?!

If you think im talking rubbish then please tell me what you opinions are :D

That's why fishing is called fishing and not catching :wink: . I could have 'hot spots' set in my nav/gps where we were hot one day but thing's change along with all the variables involved so.... :D

So due to reading the most recent threads i noted that a few of you we're talking about Mclaren and the 'mess ups' they had this weekend...which made me decide to bring this thread that a started a while ago back up...if you wanna comment or for you Mclaren fans 'vent' or to just voice your opinion on todays race feel free to do so here :)

Petrol :banghead::banghead: unattached wheels :banghead::banghead:

You forgot qualifying....their brainwave in sending Lewis out on crap tyres when the rains were just about to pelt down. For some reason, I think they feel they are just clever by doing something 'different' and it rarely works out for them.

Not necessarily sure the race outcome would have been any different had lewis gotten 4th or 5th on the grid instead. Yeah, I didn't like seeing him bringing up the rear in Q3, but it wasn't like he was magically going to be fighting for a Silverstone win given this weekend's overrun regulations goings on.
