So far not a single surprise when compared to our 2011 driver pairing poll. Either we as a forum are very good, or the results are very predictable given the current pairings.

Fraff is on a fishing trip so he has not been able to update the table. IIRC he will be back soon

oh i hadnt noticed there was a fishin' trip

Here's my update. I cant guarantee my numbers are correct... but more or less hehe

In general...

Alonso and Massa are still close in the races. But Alonso keeps destroying Massa in Q.

Jenson has caught up with Lewis. And Schumacher has also recovered quite well, to bring Rosberg a fight. not bad for an old grandpa. ;)

Webber is still getting hammered.

The Mercedes pair's race total does not add up.

For me the most impressive from that chart has to be Maldanado. People were hating on him because of the expense of Hulkenberg....but he's been pretty much EQUAL with Rubens so far...fantastic job.

It's interesting to see Jenson is matching Lewis on race pace; only one race between them, although qualifying is the difference maker, if JB could qualify better, what could he do in the race?

Perhaps the Merc numbers are skewed with one or two DNFs that FRAF counted towards neither... i'll re-check tomorrow

yes, not to mention Maldonado has been a bit unlucky, he's had some weird/unlucky DNFs.

Matching Lewis on race pace? Wrong, Lewis DNF'ed in the last one, and got a drive through in Monaco...both while being ahead of Jenson, nothing to do with race pace.

As the Pirelli ads used to say "Power is nothing without control"... when I say race pace; I mean ahead of him in the classifications, Lewis may be faster in the same car but in my opinion, he is also more of a liability; he has become more of a spin or win type of drivers (four collisions in two races is a lot) where Jenson has been a little slower but comes home with the goods!

Well, coming home with the goods doesn't win you Championships when the opposition is much faster. Even though Jenson is ahead of Lewis now in the standings, who'd bet against Lewis finishing ahead of him come the end of the season? No one. That should tell us something already.

Come on Myown, I reckon you should take up the Hammers challenge...

Loser has to post a picture of themselves in a public place wearing a tutu (preferably pink)

I did have an open for all bet during pre season...and challenged anyone for a 2 way bet, no points spread. Any guesses as to how many took up the offer?

Offer still stands.

I'm not a betting man... and I am not 100% confident that Jenson can beat Lewis; I believe it'll be close come the end of the season, Jenson can match Lewis in driving ability but will he do it; Jenson has shown he has the ability to push and be more ruthless in Canada but will he maintain that or sit back and wait for opportunities to present itself which is his biggest failing IMO! Lewis tends to be overaggressive and gets himself in trouble either by penalties or crashing out being over ambitious! Two very different drivers that cancel each other out!
