To the OP and their question, are you serious? F1 is no different than life meaning one hopes they make the right decision for the good of their flock but we are only human and alot of the 'game' is beyond our control. :wavey:

How about if we have the discussion about whether or not McLaren have gone for the wrong strategy until after the race.

If McLaren have a few more clicks downforce, then I'd expect them to win in the case of a wet race. If we have a dry race and McLaren finish mid-points, then they've gambled and lost. If we have a wet race and McLaren win, then they've gambled and won. If we have a wet race and McLaren don't win, then there will be serious questions to answer.

All this talk of McLaren getting it wrong ,giving up for the year. What a load of rubbish.

Lewis is the only other driver than Seb to win a GP this season, had a better strategy than red bull on that day.

Button might well of won in Monaco if it wasn't for the red flag. Was unlucky with Lewis's quali lap (yes one run at Monaco is a risk I know)

Lewis 2nd in Spain and nearly took Seb on,same strategy.

That's 3 out of 6 races they've nearly won against a red bull car that is clearly the best out there (at the moment). So no all in all I would say McLaren have got it right at least as much as they've got it wrong.Let's not forget the raw pace isn't as quick as red bull so sometimes you have to try something slightly different .

This weekend within half a second of red bull in quali, which is as near as they've been most of the season. It's early days to say they have it wrong this weekend for sure.

"We are just very slow this weekend. It appears that the other guys have maybe made a step forward, but I really don't know," said Hamilton.

"We're still not in the worst position, but I would like to be higher up. This was just the maximum the car was able to do. This weekend we're just lacking speed
"But I'm still positive and I'm still hopeful. I don't know when we've got anything coming, but I really, really hope sometime soon we'll have something positive come to the car.

"We didn't really come with any upgrades, the car's not really progressed a lot. While we've been bringing a lot of different updates every now and then, they're not making the car faster generally.

"So we've been at a bit of a standstill for a while. The guys are working as hard as they can, and it's just a matter of time."
Button agreed that McLaren lacked ultimate pace this weekend, and felt he had exacerbated the situation with mistakes on his best lap in Q3.

"It's always frustrating when you're not quick," he said. "We didn't have the pace that we thought we would.

"We always knew that our race pace was better than qualifying, but we're surprised to be where we are.''

One thing I've never liked about McLaren is their over promising. From when they openly stated "We're the ones to beat in Canada" I was thinking this might not look good when they actually arrive there, and true enough, they look like idiots now. Whitmarsh needs to start underestimating his teams performance instead of overestimating and start pushing it for real. They should've started 2 or 3 races ago really, but if it is true that they simply failed to develop a new rear wing for this track, I really don't see them capable of doing anything about WDC/WCC glory this season.
