That is one of the best and most surprising things about F1 for me, the fans are superb, everyone gets along with no trouble at all. You meet all sorts at the GP's it just adds to the flavour!

Then why are the forums so different? :whip:

My best GP ever was back when Senna was racing. I was about twelve, a huge Senna fan, surrounded by Brazilians who were screaming "ole, ole, ole ola, ola SENNA!!!" The whole grandstand was shaking. They took me under their wing, there I was, nerdy British girl stomping and shouting with the beautiful Brazilians. I have a pic of it somewhere, I'm wearing corduroy knickerbockers <- this verifies the story.

Two days later, my parents left on a worldwide adventure. first stop: Rio De Janeiro. Plane was full of the same Senna fans.

This is my favourite F1 story :wavey:

Patiently awaiting those 'corduroy and knickerbockers' pic's  !!!!

Awkwardly creepy. :hehe:

McLaren have gone for a wet setup... so it looks like an all or nothing gamble on rain!

As of right now, that's looking like a moderately comfortable bet. According to weather.com, Montreal has a 60% chance of rain today. On an hourly basis they have Montreal at 30% right about now, then 40% at 7:00 and 8:00 AM (local), 50% at 9:00 and 10:00, and then 60% from 11:00 through to 5:00 PM.

I don't know that they would need a special wet setup for that though.

When you say "Montreal", do you mean the track specfically, or the city? If the city, then a 60% chance of rain includes the chance that it will rain over Montreal, but not actually over the track.

I had the same wishful thought, but the answer is simply because there is a lot anonymity and zero accountability.

I'm staying about 2 miles as the crow flies from the track, it rained most of the evening, with the occasional thunder being heard still this morning. Currently there is an 80% chance of precipitation on track race time and showers here and there all morning long. At the very least we're looking at a saturated track surface at the start. Yellow poncho at the ready.

I guess that McLaren are trying something different in an effort to beat Red Bull as they don't seem to be able to do it on race pace; but it seemingly backfired unless it does rain tomorrow!

Im a little bemused here. McLaren and lewis are good here. Very good. So are they playing a clever game? Jenson didnt seem to think so. Have they gambled on wet too much or been very clever? i was suprised before quali when McLaren said they didnt have the top speed pace? they're usually good at this? surely they arent still bluffing? What d'you reckon's going on?

Looking at it another way,Lewis wasn't within half a sec of Seb in quali for the spanish gp.So with the race pace being so much closer in Spain, who knows ,don't right them off just yet :hehe:

I'm going to go for an Alonso win ,Seb 2nd,Lewis 3rd :hehe:

I really hope we see Ferrari do something today. They won't get a better opportunity than today IMO and Alonso needs to get his season going.
Not writing off Lewis or Jenson either. Anything can happen if we get rain.

(although for some reason, the McLarens don't look right so far this weekend.)

OK, time for a couple of pre race :drink: . :P

If it rains, all best are off and perhaps McLaren looks like a genius. If it doesn't rain then everyone is screwed as I think no one will take it from Vettel barring an accident of mechanical failure. As strong as the Ferrari's looked, I fear that their achilles heel will rear it's head once again, since it's very cool here this weekend. They may fall way off the pace once the primes come on the cars and they're unable to properly bring them to temperature. It was this same achilles heel that had them drop down two laps in Barcelona.

So if we're looking for the most level playing field for all, let's bring on the rain.
