Hello,

I'm interested in expanding my understanding of Team Strategy and the specific timing impact of things like tyre degredation, fuel load, pit stops etc and want to crunch some data to get this understanding. So I've been hunting around looking for sector times for all cars for all laps over a race weekend (or even just over the race) but have been quite surprised and disappointed that this information doesnt seem to be available in the public domain. Is this right? Is this information not published?

Many thanks, and enjoy your racing :)

I don't believe that there is a list of sector times published but you could use the live timing screen on the Formula 1 website and note down the sector times as they happen; it's a lot of work; so I suppose it depends on how much you want that data. http://www.formula1.com/live_timing/live_timing.html - requires signing up to the site but it gives you lots of information!

Yeah - I think that's more work than I'm prepared to do (I want to watch the racing, not the timing screen :P) - but I was hoping to have all the data for the season so far as well (and maybe even last season) - not just one or two races.

Try the FIA's Media Centre.

That actually looks pretty good (at a glance) - the format isn't great - but I can work with it I think. Thankyou :):)
There are no sector times, but that's less important than the lap times.

I can only get Canada info at the moment though - there is an archive - but its all password protected - I've requested access (http://private.fia.com/Web/Formulaire_F ... rm&lang=en) but dont know if they'll give it to me. Anyone have a copy of the historical data saved that they could share with me?

They do post fast lap sector times for qualies and the race but what with free practice times being of no real consequence, they don't bother with them.

All of the FIA's public notices, press releases and whatnot for the race appear to be available in that one directory. If you have a leeching or web site mirroring app, the robots.txt file is located in the directory...

...and you can download them all in one fell swoop.
