I know I could look myself but for the sake of conversation what's the forecast? And please in Celcius ;)

Showers on Sat and Sun with a high 19˙C and a low of 12/13˙C.

It will be interesting to see if it is a wet race as there is still a question mark on the Pirelli full wet tyre. Some drivers did complain about the full wet not lasting long and it can get a bit wild when they wear down during testing. As for the inters, there nothing like the Brigdestones inters as the Pirelli inter cannot handle the some amount of water on track as the Bridgestone inter.

Should be a good race wet or dry though.

Lowe not convinced by double DRS zone

McLaren's Paddy Lowe is not convinced the second Drag Reduction System zone at this weekend's Canadian Grand Prix is necessary.

For the first time this season there will be two DRS zones during Sunday's race, one on the long straight out of turn 10 and one on the pit straight. It will give drivers stuck behind a car in front two chances to overtake by using their movable wing to reduce drag, but Lowe believes most overtaking manoeuvres will be sewn up by the end of the first straight.

"This is the first race at which they [the FIA] have had the system fully commissioned to run in two sectors," Lowe told the Vodafone McLaren Mercedes phone-in. "They clearly feel that it will assist overtaking, since that's the point of the DRS, whether it does or not remains to be seen.

"Our own analysis, which hasn't been extensive I must admit, seems to say that it will not particularly help and the role of the DRS will play out mainly in the initial straight from the hairpin, and that the second straight may just aid with performance."

If a driver is overtaken in the first DRS zone he will not be allowed to use his wing in the second zone to fight back.

Lowe added: "In theory if you've overtaken on the first straight, ironically, the guy ahead will be able to continue to use the DRS on the second straight, even though he has already overtaken and he will open up an even bigger gap. We'll just have to see how that pans out."

Honestly, this looks like overkill. 2 DRS zones on a track where overtaking is not much of a challenge? Very smart.

The car behind has such a massive advantage, they are able to make use of the DRS to overtake on the back straight, and use it AGAIN on the main straight to pull away? What's this about? I don't think Lewis needs this much help to get past Vettel...1 DRS zone is more than enough! :whip:

Dumb! Another dumb unnecessary rule. So the guy who has ovetaken can use his DRS in the second zone but the other guy cant? Why? Is this to help all the guys who cant overtake? Who is going to keep check of wehether the guy operating his DRS i the second zone has overtaken in the first? Overcomplicated. Not neccessary.

You dont have to check, once the zone marking before the hairpin has established which is the car behind, that car will be able to use DRS all the way through till the first corner! If he has overtaken or not, so its not complicated. But just stupid.
#259843
That is totally lame if the driver that got overtaken can't fight back in the second DRS zone. I guess they couldn't of been bothered squeezing in another timing detection point for the main straight DRS zone.

I already said that it would be cool on two different parts of track with TWO DETECTION ZONES. This way it could really turno to rubbish.

cant wait for the weekend. i do hope it rains, i cant help but feel that if it is another vettel win that the season is close to over already. good on him for being so good at the moment, but as a fan of the sport it is a little frustrating when you want to see an exciting season, especially after how amazing last season was !

It seems to me to be common sense that the driver who looses out in the first DRS zone should be able to attack in the second zone, it would create racing, not just an overtake. Not allowing that seems very bizarre.

then again i did say "just an overtake" should be happy we are getting anything at all :)
