I heard about this on the radio as I was driving to work in the early hours of the morning. Redcar is about 3 miles down the road to my town (Saltburn). I was early for work and made a quick u-turn to check it out. I've never seen anything like it in my life.

It was still alive when I got there, and....I can't even describe how awesome the whale looked. A fireman was standing near it's head and he looked like a tiny little lego-man. The whale was thrashing it's tail, I've never seen an alive thing look so huge, it was just jaw-dropping. I was getting all teary-eyed for the poor thing because it just looked soooo amazing, and lovely and I just wished we humans could somehow get him back into the sea.

I'm consoling myself by hoping that blood samples would determine it was very ill, otherwise it would seem like such a loss. To think that humans are so genetically similar that that.

Sorry but I normally only hear the "I'm late for work" after I make breakfast for myself, guess I should have got more egg's and trounced the ATM more ?
