Cost of gas I can answer... Looking at gasbuddy.com average gas price right now is 130cents/litre so:

1gallon = 3.78L
3.78*130 = $4.91/gallon

I don't know about in the circuit, but a buddy told me that last time he was in Montreal during the GP the city was one big party (moreso than usual), but that everyone was gouging for everything - especially hotels.

Are those US$ or Can$? The exchange rate for Can $ is 0.968 or so in favor of the loony :yikes:

Loonie. A loony is a crazy or silly person.

Then again... :twisted:

Lotus Renault have been granted permission to run their black and gold livery in Canada after concerns that it contravened anti-tobacco legislation.

This season, Lotus Renault opted to take on the old black and gold livery that Lotus ran in the eighties, however, these colours were linked to the team's backer, cigarette brand John Player Special.

As such, there were concerns that the Lotus Renault may have to change their colours ahead of next weekend's Montreal GP.

But after meeting with Quebec authorities to discuss the conformity of the R31's livery with the anti-tobacco legislation, the team has been given the go-ahead to run.

However, Lotus Renault have agreed to work with the Quebec authorities on a more noticeable way to keep complying with the local legislation in 2012.

"We're delighted to be able to race in Montreal in our usual colour scheme," said team boss Eric Boullier.

"The Quebec authorities noted that the current livery makes a reference to images from the 1980s when the car was sponsored by the tobacco industry, but it has also accepted the fact that Lotus Renault GP receives no direct or indirect financing from the industry in question.

"We would like to thank them for acknowledging our good faith. We are fully aware of the stringent restrictions imposed by the law in Quebec on promotional associations with tobacco.

"As a result, we will use all means available to dispel any misconceptions that our identity and that of our partners is somehow associated with this industry."

makes you wonder why they have never had concerns with Ferrari's subliminal livery who receive direct financing from a tobacco company. :rolleyes: Damn French Canadians.
