"self-proclaimed "equality" garbage".

Means: they say they treat both drivers equal. But they don't. And they keep saying it, and saying it and saying it... when everybody else knows they don't.
I don't mind how they run the team, but pointless demagogy IS garbage.

Alonso didnt win the title because he made too may errors under pressure from a Rookie. There were races where he could hardly keep the car on the road.

Alonso made 1 mistake in the whole season: in Fuji under terrible conditions. Then 'maybe' that penalty in Hungary, but it wasn't a driving mistake. Take just the penalty from Hungary out, and you'd have another WDC.

On the other hand... Lewis went "off" a lot more often, examples:
Belgium (several times), Turkey, China, Brazil (several times), Monza, Nurburgring and Fuji's behind the safety car episodes. At least 3 of these were very memorable 'hardly kept his car on the road' moments, plus one chicane-cutting unpenalised pass....

Alonso also had the mistake in Spain going off at the first corner and also in Canada doing the same thing.

This is info from FerrariChat.com. It seem's Renault's impending FIA investigation with a potential monetary fine that could destroy the team's future and Flavio wanting more than just a one year contract has lead Alonso to persue other avenue's? I dont know if this is fact though but if so atleast Honda has the finance's to meet Alonso's salary request and the experience he can bring to the team mean's nothing but good thing's for Honda.

'Alonso has seat fitting - at Honda

Fernando Alonso spent an entire day at Honda's Brackley factory this week and even had a seat fitting, reports from Germany on Thursday said.

Sport Bild claims that the double world champion, who is still yet to commit to a team for 2008 after splitting with McLaren, is 'nearing an agreement' with the Japanese outfit that recently tabbed Ross Brawn as its new team boss.

It is reported that the first approach to Alonso about possibly joining Honda was made by F1 chief executive Bernie Ecclestone, after the previously Nick Fry-led team embarrassingly netted just six points with its RA107 package this year.

The publication said Alonso would take the place of Rubens Barrichello; the Brazilian veteran who would move to Honda's satellite team Super Aguri in 2008 as Takuma Sato's new team-mate.

Alonso's manager, Luis Garcia Abad, on Thursday was not contactable

I bet Alonso feels a bit left out in the rain without a coat. I bet he is a little angry and show a more aggressive side next season driving for Honda. He must really hate McLaren right now.

Or we can look at Alonso's situation truelly as a gift, if this info is fact, I think he has hit a goldmine with having Ross Brawn to work with.

Alonso to Honda? Hmmmm.... so who will they ditch? Jenson or Rubens?

the question is why does he want a one year deal so bad? is it really so he can drive at Ferrari in 2009?
i cant see Ferrari having Kimi and Fern as team mates

On a possible Honda drive, what will happen if he starts getting out paced by Button, will he claim team favouritism for Jense being British?

Atleast the 'bad guy's' won the WDC on the track and not in the FIA court's right? Shuey has nothing too prove, he IS the greatest like him or not, but it would be a joy to see him compete against Lewis. Talk about ticket sale's going through the roof!

Alan Jones thinks all this testing will convince Schumi to get back in the cockpit full time.

,"only 2 time world champion on grid", has just been descicively outdriven and outpsyched by a sensational rookie

Rather, the 2 time world champion was demoralised by a frivolous team that somehow manages to bring out the worst out of their talents (see Kimi and Montoya plus many others before) with their self-proclaimed "equality" garbage.

Alonso would have won the title for Mclaren. But in the end, the best team and driver on the grid won it, by beating the best car.

Agreed, Ron isn't exactly top of his class when it comes to driver motivation. Montoya/Kimi/Alonso all great drivers but didn't gel with the team boss...

Montoya underperformed. A promising signing which delivered very little. A big disappointment.
Raikkonen left because McLaren were simply not up to standard.
Alonso left because he couldn't handle being owned by a rookie. Whereas Senna and Prost rolled their sleeves up and did everything to beat one another, Alonso acted like a spoiled child.

Alonso to Honda, nice move mate. Ross Brawn knows how to motivate drivers and this will be a fantastic opportunity to forge a good working relationship.

What strikes funny is that Alonso has not said he wants strictly a 1-yr deal. The only thing that the "prospect" teams have said is "3 year or no deal" but they haven't said that Alonso insists on a 1-yr deal

Besides, who would sign a 3-yr with Renault right now?? Even without the Ferrari rumours, I don't think any of the top drivers have faith in Renault to be front row-ing in the next 3 years...

Sure, Hamilton was faster then anyon expected and caused big problems politics wise. I guess Ron was thinking long term and realised he's better putting his eggs in the Hamilton basket.

I would have thought it would be good manners to support Alonso this season and tell Hamilton his time will come.
